You will love it! I just drove a loaner without it and the difference is substantial (not that the X5 isn't fun without it!)

Well....next mod is definitely going to be my upgraded suspension especially after I read more comments on how different the DHP really is, lol.

Thanks for the offer, lol! Unfortunately, I can't retrofit the DHP (way too expensive if I tried), so I'm getting a custom Accuair Air Suspension: It will tighten up my suspension considerably with giving me ride height options much like BMW and Mercedes high-end upgraded suspensions provide. So it will be perfect for cornering, regular driving, and offroading.

I think around $5-6k for the whole kit/air management system, but my friend has a hookup and can get it a little under $4k. It's pricey, but so was DHP. Suspension upgrades are def worth it. If I could go back and build mine, I would have and added DHP . I'm going this route because it's the only/best alternative, and my friend is licensed to install them.

Not that I know of. Suspension mods are generally low risk from all the threads I have come across, but also, my friend said he isn't removing factory parts that would cause suspension to be void (I wasn't paying enough attention to remember what they parts were). I'll update on that when I find out more information.

Have been now driving in winter and the car is very stable inexiting corners and handling in the corners. I would say the main issue is that it is so heavy that at high speeds and slippery roads it is sometimes a handful when going down slopes etc. I dont think the dhp would help that, as understeer due to weight is the issue and the weight is also an issue when braking on slippery surfaces. I think the only real advantage it might have is as it is high, the anti roll system might be helpful in some situations, but not sure it is worth the money atleast the speeds I drive a SUV. I wanted it, but due to 7 seats couldnt have it.

Once the install is complete, I'll email you the full information. Accuair is custom building it for my F15, so they currently have my strut in their possession to get exact measurements. I'll do a full review on it as well.

Nice spec! No Auxiliary Heating? I would NOT be without it...even though we live in the South West..its a MUST HAVE IMO. At least with the delay you won't have to worry about swapping out the Performance for Winter Tyres..had mine delivered in mid May from an order placed in February 2014; seems like our North American cousins get to benefit from 'buy now deliver a week Wednesday' from BMW NA; maybe its a like a Fast Food thing but for BMWs You'll enjoy it when you get it guaranteed! |

You can get either just Dynamic Damper Control or M Suspension with Dynamic Damper (I beleive it gets included automatically). You cannot get DHP with third row seat.

I did think about the Auxiliary Heating but did not think I would really need it. I have not had it on any other car but know you have me thinking. It would be nice to get into a warm car on a cold day. It would also be nice not to have to scrape the ice from the windscreen as the wife's Ford Fiesta has that function. I still cant believe it takes 5 - 6 months for this car to be built and delivered |
