Advance Car Eye 2.0 coming out in May 2018 (Europe)

As translated google translator.

https://www.bmw.de/de/topics/service...0.x5-2013.html

Advanced Car Eye 2.0

The BMW Advanced Car Eye 2.0 is a high-sensitivity Full HD camera that keeps an eye on what's going on around the vehicle, even at night. In the event of vibrations and extraordinary movements outside the vehicle, the camera automatically saves the situation to document possible accidents or even (attempted) burglaries.

Scope of delivery: Front camera, rear-view camera (can be assembled depending on model and equipment), anti-bubble foil, retrofit cable set for permanent installation, 32 GB micro SD card with USB adapter and operating instructions.
The admissibility of the recording and utilization of video recordings depends on the legal regulations of the country of use. The responsibility for the use and the compliance with the applicable regulations lies with the user. Please inform yourself before departure.
Expected to be available from May 2018. Further information on product availability is available on request.

Regardless of one's feelings towards constant surveillance (and surprised a German company would do this), this is not a very elegant implantation.

There are far more stealthier/OEM appearing dash/park cameras options out there, let alone for 1/3 of the price with probally better optics, and options.
