Maybe you are right - honestly i didn't look long for a 50i bc i was originally looking exclusively at 35i's for a while...then one day i decided to expand my search and boom there she was...picked her up that weekend

That's great! Good for you...

I owned a 2014 - 550xi msport. I was to bring my car in for service and decided to check out what the dealer had on their website. I saw the X5 nicely loaded and same interior and exterior color as my car.

I took the car in the next day for service and walked over to the CPO department and checked out the X5. I was sold after the test drive. 5 hours later I bought it and traded mine in. CRAZY! Lol

I think so as well, they also are very low on my trade. However, that might just be the market for 328's right now.

How does everyone deal with post-CPO warranty? Do you get it through a 3rd party? I honestly am considering going through CarMax and purchase a 3+ year warranty. Granted I don't need a new car, I just want a new car (lol), so I'm dragging my feet slightly trying to find the best deal.

Have to consider the optioned vehicle OP is discussing not what it could be. This CPO will go for $50k or a bit more. Did not realize it did not have LED lights. Besides that he is going to miss out on a nice optioned vehicle looking for an older one with more options and more mileage.

I do agree it's missing a key option like LED Lights. If that is a deal breaker then I understand. DHP CPOs are hard to find and would definitely be more expensive. That's the one option I would trade for my B&O system.

Another thing to take into consideration is the trade value they are giving him for his car.
Not really. I've seen 3 cars in the past 2 months, with all the options I listed (MSRP of $95K+), CPO, with around 25K miles listed for under $50K. They all sold very quickly though. I'm not sure 10K miles is worth much (probably $2K).

Agreed on the trade-in value though. If they're giving him top dollar for it, then the asking price does not mean much -- it's the difference that matters.

I never even thought of the LED lighting package, however reading more, it looks like its a valuable option.

Again, thanks everyone for the input!!!!

It does seem a little high, even for the low mileage.

If you have any interest in a diesel my dealer still has the one I just turned in still for sale. Fully loaded minus night vision and B&O. $45,765. Is the V8 worth $5k more than a diesel?....

It’s all matter of personal perspective on the ideal price. I would look at blue book value and go from there. Now if you feel you deserve $2k off, then ask for it; especially now that we are hitting the halfway mark of May and Memorial Day is around the corner. Most dealers want to finish this month strong.

I conformed the dealer about the price and stated with my research it is priced to high. Now I realize that I want the Lighting Package. I found one with 28k miles in Illinois with ACC Stop & Go and Lighting Package. However it doesn't have the nice rims, but I can always easily add aftermarket later in life.

No DHP though, I haven't tried one with it, so I'm not sure of the difference? Is there an easy way to tell if an X5 has it? In terms of CarMax, they don't necessarily post all the options.

And cheaper!

I suggest you do more homework on this vehicle before jumping in on any purchase. I strongly advise not negotiating any price unless you have test driven and are ready to purchase.

I bought my 2014 50i almost a year ago. Only option it doesn't have is night vision and the back seats that recline. MSRP $98k. Bought last July for $54k fresh off a lease with 19k miles. I think $50k is a good target given you're a year newer. If you had nappa, LED, and most importantly DHP then $54k easy. Don't expect to get below $50k though. Over the course of 6 months looking for 50i it was tough watching them go so quickly before I could get one. Then finally got lucky and had to drive 4 states over to get it.

If you don't know if DHP is worth it then search this forum and you'll know it is. Especially if you want the V8. If you just want a family cruiser then save your money and get one with adaptive, and a diesel. Or even the 35i.

Finding one with DHP will take some time, that's for sure. I just need to located one to test drive (new or used).

So far after starting this threat I'm looking for DHP & Lighting Package, I already knew I wanted adaptive cruise.

I hate the adaptive cruise to be honest. It's way too conservative compared to other vehicles. I ended up coding the ability to use regular cruise control which unlike many other car makers you can do from the start. Not BMW. It just begs people to get in front of me and then if jacks on the brakes. Just too much of that for my liking.

What's funny, is I thought (never tested) that it wouldn't be as good as a Toyota, Chevy, Ford etc. Just based on the thought that less BMW's are built w/ them.

Can't you set the follow distance? Also, just to reiterate BMW doesn't allow 'normal' cruise control? Once cruise is set you have to use adaptive? Sorry for my ignorance, want to make sure i'm reading that correctly.

On mdecoder, I found a vehicle with this:

S2VFA Adaptive M suspension
S2VPA Adaptive suspension package Dynamic

Would that mean DHP or M? M, correct?
