Is there a recommended USB splitter that will work in the X5 (w/car play)?

Not sure what kind of USB "splitter" you are asking about? What are you trying to split? Connect 2 phones to one USB port?

Essentially, yes...or what one might refer to as a multi port extension. I read that splitters/multi port adapters are for PC's/Mac's, NOT for automobiles.

Why do you want to do that? The USB port has barely enough power to recharge on phone...

I use a multi post extension on my PC and wanted to do likewise in the X5. If the X5 USB has limited power, that would explain why the splitter/multi port extension is non applicable. Looks like I'll have to the 12V route.

Sounds like you are making it a bit too complicated, just get a 2 port charger off amazon and call it a day. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Ainop...dp/B0795DJXNH/

And yes, connecting USB hub into your car won't do much.

depending on what your requirements are: purchase a 300W inverter - 2 USB and 2 120V outlets or usb charger socket w/ 2.4 amps each
