I use a multi post extension on my PC and wanted to do likewise in the X5. If the X5 USB has limited power, that would explain why the splitter/multi port extension is non applicable. Looks like I'll have to the 12V route.

Sounds like you are making it a bit too complicated, just get a 2 port charger off amazon and call it a day. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Ainop...dp/B0795DJXNH/
And yes, connecting USB hub into your car won't do much. |
