Sorry... a tire question

Hello sorry for the silly question but was wondering if these ( https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes ) would fit without an issue with my 611s on my F16. The 611s were originally bought as the orbit grey winterpackage with 20x10fronts and 20x10.5rears but with square setup 285/40r20 pzeros. The pzeros are pretty much done so I need new tires anyway so I was looking at getting a square setup again but on runflats and all seasons mainly because I got a second car and my wife will be driving this as a daily.

They are a different aspect ratio, 45 vs 40, and they’re H rated. You would want a “W” rated or higher in the 40 aspect ratio. While you might be fine with a 130 mph H rated tire there are other considerations that a W rated tire are meant to address.
Other than that the Scorpion Verde is an excellent runflat. I rolled up over 50k on the SVs that came on my X.

I hear you, but I couldnt find anything close spec wise to the 285/40r20 in all season run flats except for good year. I heard pretty bad reviews on the goodyears over on the Jeep forums..like really bad reviews so guess they aren't an option. I was thinking of going 275/40r20 107v squares but Im afraid the rears might stretch a bit.. Hm .. If I did end up going the P scorpion 285/45's other than the ratio aspect you mention would be there any mechanical issues such as putting stress in the transfer case and such?

This is the primary problem with the larger wheel sizes, few choices. Aside from the aesthetics argument about “filling” the wheel well so that the truck looks “balanced”, my choice of the 19” 467s leaves me with dozens of choices, as well as better traction off the road.

And, as always, YMMV.

Yeah 45 series is a bit tall, I’m quite surprised there aren’t more options , but I guess RFT all seasons that’s a tough one.

No.

20”, 21”, 22” and larger, VERY limited tire offerings. That’s the problem.

Yeah tell me about it..after getting the 2nd car I literally have no space in my garage for another set of wheels/tires. Don't have the spare space/kit and I would rather have my wife with runflats on her daily 30 mile commute just in case.

How about a 275/40 which is .3 inch less in diameter or a 295/40 which is .3 inch taller..... compared to the 285/40

Hmm so your suggesting either 2 of the specs as a square setup that you just mentioned is more practical than going with the 285/45. If so then sure I will looking into those. Im use to just going the oe specs on non run flats with every single one of my cars until now which my wife needs runflats that doesn't even have the correct size for the wheels. If worse comes to worse I guess I can just downgrade to 19s....

Can you not run 275/40 20 as a square setup? Plenty more choice for runflats.....

As long as you run a square setup - you can really run whatever tires you want as long as they fit the wheel correctly. Yes - your spedometer will be off if you go too tall or short, but your car does not care other than that. If you went real short on the front and real tall on the back for instance - that can cause you issues with a AWD vehicle, but with the same tire on each corner you can do what you want.

In my experience - the run flats ride harsher than non-run flats, so that little extra sidewall might help offset that some. Won't hurt a thing though.

Thanks for that..my wife doesn't mind the road noise so yeah extra sidewall wouldn't be a bad idea. I have a feeling the 285/45s might rub though..

The tire would only be 1.1" taller overall - are you that close? That is only .55" more from the center of the hub to edge of the tire - not a big change.

Great site I use for tire comparisons - great when working on staggered set ups too.
