Looks like an overweight X3 with X1 accents on the lower bumpers and below the doors. Undecided is what it looks to me.

Completely agree. The large fog lights look odd in the front bumper like that. Otherwise, it looks much sharper than the current X5.

really like the headlights meeting the grills. definitely hate the fog light location as it looks just plopped on there.

I see some Dodge Durango at the front, especially the grille and headlights, but I don't mind that at all. The front is imposing and has presence!
The rear is a bit of a disappointment, looks too much like the X3.

Overall I think it looks quite good!

I really do not understand all of the criticism towards this new model. I actually like it. Surely I cannot be the only person who thinks so.

2014 BMW DURANGO images leaked!!!

In a move to cut costs and increase profits BMW has partnered with Chrysler/Dodge to see if it works for them as well as it did for Mercedes.

In a further move to cut costs BMW has also decided to directly graft the X3
rear end directly on to the new DURANGO as well.

This are images of a Die Cast Model only from Jadi Modelcraft. They were uploaded to facebook by one of their retailers. That's why it look weird. Will have to wait to a real images to get into any conclusions.

Finally I can order E70 LCI without thinking that 3rd gen will be better. That thing is hideous (design-wise IMO).

Also like others said it does look like an inflated X3. X5 should be the trend setter for the X series, not trend follower.

Looks nice from the front (except for those horribly placed fog lights) but that rear end....say it ain't so!

looks just like an X3 from the rear....I'm sure it will grow on people much like most of the new models do but I still think the current generation looks nicer

Exactly!

When first photos of E70 came out many forum people criticized the design of being "boring", "too evolutionary", "too boxy", "not as sexy & rounded as E54", "too big", "less aggressive looking than E54", "interior too sedan-ish", "much uglier than E54" etc.
