Chime for hood open message - what to do?

Over the last couple of days my car has been chiming endlessly stating my hood is open. is this a known issue and how do I resolve it?

of course, my hood isn't open and I have actually opened and closed it on a couple occasions hoping it would go away but to no avail the chiming still continues

thanks in advance,
Mike

I suggest checking or unplugging the electrical connector to see if that fixes or just stops the issue (if having the hood switch warning unplugged doesn't bother you...you could leave it that way).

Wish the OP in the other thread would have reported back their resolution as they wrote they would.

I have been so busy thatvo haven't had time to address that issue yet. I have other more prevalent problems to deal with before the hood issue, which is very intermittent. But i will update with results when i do fix it.

thanks everybody for the links. it was happening endlessly when I posted this thread and I was heading out of town that next day and I didn't want it to chime the whole time on my road trip - thankfully it has only done it 4-5 times since.
