12v Outlets? On the go Vacuuming?

I did some light searching with no luck. Do we have any? If so, where are they located? Assume they are only active when the vehicle is switched or when running? Trying to find an "on the go" vacuuming solution and I had little luck with cigarette lighter systems...

There is 12v in the boot area. In my (UK) model it is live all the time.

I went online and did a google search for a BMW 2105 F15 X5 owners manual...found one and opened it to do a search for 12v sockets...and this is what I found in the F15 owners manual. Hope it solves the mystery.

Those 12v vacuums are useless anyway.

Exactly. Better to have a cordless like the dyson mentioned above.

This seems to be missing the one 12v in the cargo area on the passenger side. It's got a cover over it.

But yes why none of these are simple outlets and still cigarette lighter style on a 2018 is beyond me. And if the excuse is cuz they're German then that's bull cuz there are tons of differences between euro spec and US spec all the time.

Well your car and all the electronics runs on DC power and the cigarette barrel connector delivers DC power. Honestly the only cars I've seen that provide AC power are big American cars.

That $129 Dyson V6 looks perfect. I might even get another!

For Dyson it's really easy to buy parts direct. I disassemble my units all the time, clean everything, and replaced the consumables, the things are like new.

My wife's 2014 E350 has a 12v AC outlet in the backseat next to the cigarette lighter. I looked at her spec sheet and it was a random $115 option that they previous owner paid for, she keeps a little shop vac in the trunk and it works great, wish I had one!

Welp, the car charger for the Dyson was so damn expensive that I ended up going with a new Dyson V7 Car and Boat package that comes with the car adapter and a ton of accessories. I grabbed one off Rakuten for $170 shipped. I'll keep that puppy in my back seat charging on the rear outlet. Apparently Dyson has built in technology that stops the unit from trying to grab juice from the outlet once the battery is full which is nice. I'll admit it's a little steep for a car vacuum but I really enjoy this SAV and when its squeaky clean I love it even more!
