140k Miles, still on OEM Plugs!

So looking through the maintenance files of the F15, it looks like there was a seriously glaring oversight on spark plug changes, as in, they have never been changed once. Everything else: oil, filters, brakes, etc have been followed to the T.

Oddly enough, the N55 hasn’t had any issues, leaks, misfires, or notice effect on power or MPG.

So just wanted to show you guys what 140k miles looks like on the original set:

-two of the spark plugs had blackened center electrodes
-there is a noticeable grayish powdered substance and black/brown residue collected on the surfaces

But, the insulators hasn’t cracked and all the gaps I measured to be at .035

The ignition coils also looked brand new, zero corrosion.

The only way to find oil leaks on n55 is on a lift due to the oil being soaked into the bottom tray hidden. No f15 n55 oil leak will drop on the floor. As for the ignition coils, you won't be able to tell if they're good or bad visibly they just electronically start to go bad. Mine were new looking as well, but after I changed plugs, they shortly failed after. Save the money and replace them now. you don't want to be stranded from a coil misfiring later randomly.

I've wasted at least 6 sets of spark plugs then. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Just to be clear, I’m an idiot. I would’ve done it if I had remembered, but for some reason I just never did.

I am in no way shape or form advocating doing extended mileage on anything, even oil.
