Paddle Coding
Hi folks,
I need your help! I would like to unlock the paddle shifters on a BMW F15 X3. The problem is that this car does not have a FEM_Body or BDC_Body control unit, but still has older control units installed. CAS, NFRM, JBBF, no SZL I have now added 2TB via FA and coded Kombi, EGS, ICM, CAS, NFRM, but this has not helped. I then tried 2XA and then 7XA. None of this worked. When I go into the control units individually: CAS, NFRM, JBBF, EGS, DSC: I can't find a value with shift paddles anywhere. Do you know how I can get these things enabled? |

Can you clear up some confusion, first? An F15 is the 3rd generation X5 An X3 cant be an F15 (X5)…depending on its model year…an X3 can be either an e83, f25, g01, or f97 (X3M). Help us help you better…also reveal which model X3 or X5 you have (which also reveals your engine/transmission)…and give your model year (or production date). This gives us other data to work with when something appears inconsistent (like an f15 X3). EDIT: just did a quick google search for adding paddles to an X3. The first thread mentions that if the vehicle didn’t come with an M steering wheel with paddles…that WIRING is needed to make them work…moreso than coding. So adding a wheel with shift paddles requires that the correct wiring is in the steering column. Did you add the wiring for the paddles? Example of wiring being discussed on the X3 forum: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1171829

sorry, i mistyped. of course i meant an F25. the car is from 2014. supposedly wiring was made, but i think the guy was fooled by another coder because he cashed in despite failure and still claimed that he had even did wiring. if that had been the case, my coding should have worked.
