So far the only relatively common issues are steering wheel servo motor can stop adjusting and soft closer option may not work sometimes. Besides these gremlins I haven't heard much of anything else. Even these 2 issues are relatively rare. There's 1 thread about steering wheel and couple complains about soft closure mechanism.

Now when 4th gen. is on the way - I think it's time to finally say that N63TU and f15 are "lucky" to not be plagued by serious issues and imho they will age very well.
Dush..when the G05 comes out the older gen will Automatically start having issues..that's a curse to all new and old things jk..

Hi there, I brought that car last Dec, a fully loaded 14 50i msport, 19k miles and cost me $54k Canadian dollar including tax. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me at that time.

The 50i drives amazing. I had a 12 335i with mppk, but the power it's not in the same level compare to this v8tt beast.

After half year ownership, the only problem that I had was the soft automatic door unlatched on me several times, and dealer fixed it under warranty. Sounds like a common problem... Otherwise, it's all good, figure crossed...

I think the reliability wise, it's pretty solid so far. But I still brought 3 years extended warranty, so I can sleep well at night.

Anyway, let's keep each other updates.

Cheers!~
Good to hear everything is in place..hold on to it until you're ready for the G05!

Not a big fun of G05’s rear look, like a Dodge Durango imo....

But unless it can be much faster than f15, I may get a cpo F85 in the next two years....

It won't be faster. Same engine (well ok it's technically 12-15hp more), same ZF8 transmission, and more importantly same weight of 5170lbs (judging by their leaked specs). So I personally consider it as a facelift: new bumpers, headlights and interior tech.

BMW called it facelift previously - now they are marketing it as a "new generation".

P.S. In the same leaked specs - it is indeed faster by 0.1sec lol. I'm talking about 50i.

P.P.S. For lower end tho - it's another story - they are putting a new B58 engine - that will be for sure faster and more mod potential than n55.

Yeah, that 0.1 sec difference is like a joke. Even 15’ model year is 0.2sec faster than 14’ due to update trans. But I’m wondering if they really have such difference. And that’s the only reason I regret not to get a 15’ x5....

No worries, I have 2014 too and that 0-60 difference is only for stock cars (not tuned) and probably only due to 1st gear ratio. So on highway pulls or 1/4 - it won't matter as much (if at all). Besides if you are tuned - that difference basically negates to zero as you are approaching 500whp and above. In fact I have a theory that for 500whp and above - when torque is so huge that a longer gear gives more benefit in 1/4 than shorter gearing (due to needing less shifts and less boost loss in between shifts). I may be wrong of course, but it makes me sleep better lol

You are absolutely right about having lots of torque and the longer gears , it will accelerate longer in gear

It's been a while. Any higher mileage owners want to chime in on reliability?

Hit 50k on my 2014. Not a lot for my year but Still going strong. Nothing but spark plugs so far. Still got tons of meat on the pads and rotors too which is awesome to see. Knock on wood! Haha

Almost there with you, bud! I'm at 49,200 miles with the same MY 2014. Got suspension air bags replaced too and need new rear front control arms soon since they're squeaking. Other than that, a beast of a machine.

I've got 55k on mine and haven't gotten around to changing the plugs because it seems to be running fine. Did you notice a difference?

I'm tuned so the plugs were Mando for me around 25k miles. Been solid every since.

Also replaced bags and and front control arms already.

What were the symptoms on the front control arms that caused you to change them? Noise, looseness or something else?

Noise. Clunk sound when turning into a parking spot. Don't get it when straight and level but specifically pulling into a spot with pretty large wheel deflection.

What sucks is I just replaced both of them so apparently I didn't install the passenger one correctly. Lol. Fml. This next one will come from FCP for their lifetime warranty.
