Confused. You have everything you need and still asking what is most user friendly?

Sorry I ment if there are more options or the E- Sys Premium is the way to go?
I'm having trouble typing the Location path on the TokenMaster pop up window, the black window that pops up after you install the E-Sys software, I did choose the car type and the memory to use, but can't type the location path on the first row....

Got my cable on eBay from Antonio who provides download links and used the cheat sheets from here and on bimmerfest.

I found these 2 videos to be extremely helpful and informative

There are phone apps and there is E-sys.

If you choose the ladder, there are options, but Premium or Pro Launcher is the only one I would recommend.

Latest launcher does not ask you to type in location. All you need is to type pin twice.

Hi, thanks a lot, I managed to install all software needed, I'm moving into the next step which is connecting to the car for the first time. Reading the next text, I'm concern about coding the car with the engine shut down, my car is a 2016 X5 F015-30d (Diesel)
"In lieu of using an external charger, the car can instead be coded with the engine running, in order to maintain proper voltage, which is acceptable for coding all ECU's EXCEPT the DME (Digital Motor Electronics) ECU or DDE (Digital Diesel Electronics) ECU. The DME/DDE are typically not coded anyway, so this ECU limitation is generally not an issue."
I do have a battery maintainer but not sure if it will hold the voltage needed if the engine is OFF, I would love to do it with engine ON if the text quoted above doesn't affect my specific car
Any tips will be appreciated

Text translation:
You should be running engine to maintain battery voltage during coding, except if coding DME/DDE Engine ECU.

Battery tenders are not the same thing as programming PSU's, which output 13.4+ V and 50-70+ amps.

You can also code offline, to minimize the time needed to be physically connected to vehicle with engine running.

Thanks man!
There is a link where to learn how to code offline?
It sounds great to me because I can use it as a practice without any time stress

No link. You just do it.

You only have to be connected when "Read," "Read Coding Data," "Code," or "Code FDL."

Otherwise, you can do the same things disconnected.

does anyone know why this time round it says I need an Activation Code from TokenMaster? whereas when I coded last time (around 8 months ago), I wasn't prompted for this? Is there anyway to escape the prompt?
I have emailed him and its been over 8 days without a reply

Because you changed some windows setting/setup. Tokenmaster is away with hundreds of emails piling up; upon return, he will respond to requests.

I recently got the BimmerCode iPhone app and the vGate 2 wifi adapter, I am eager to try it out but will not have the opportunity to do so anytime soon...

I've used it for simple stuff and it's fine, like mirror folding, losing the confirm screens, changing the startup screens,etc...

Hi all,
I have a '17 X5 with ID5 that I coded to ID 6 light earlier tonight. Does anybody know where I need to go to change the Vehicle logo to something resembling an X5? Right now, it looks like a 5-series.

Also, just to confirm, I should not be coding to ID6 --- just ID6-light... correct?

Lastly - unrelated question, does anybody recall where the setting is to code auto-high beams to 'always on' on the F15? I have it coded that way for my F10, but somehow missed the setting on the F15.

Thanks!

What software version do you have? Has you car been updated in February or later?

Does the touchscreen when coded to "id6 light" still work?

Thanks.

Almaretto The car started the build process more recently than 2/27 -- that is the date we finalized the specs with my dealer... we took delivery on 3/17. I am not sure what S/W version I have --- can you remind me how to check? I've seen that screenshot that you posted above previously, but am not sure what setting I need to toggle in the car to make the X5 picture appear instead of the sedan pic that I see now.

janexus ID6light is working flawlessly on our X5 including the touch-screen. The 'only' downside --- and it is certainly not a deal-breaker --- is that the 'my vehicle' icon shows as a BMW sedan.. but this may be 'fixable' based on Almaretto's feedback. Personally, I prefer ID6L to ID5 and plan on keeping it as my front-end skin.
