Glacier Silver
As far as I can see, I seem to be in a minority of one on this forum in that I have ordered a x30d M-Sport in Glacier Silver, which should be with me in the first week in May.
My last 2 Bmw's, a 530d M-sport saloon and a 330d M-Sport coupe have both been titanium silver, and i have found this to be a great colour for hiding the day to day grime whilst coming up really well when washed. Unlike the blacks which seem to show every splash of mud or dust. The glacier silver seems to be a little lighter in shade to the titanium silver, so we'll have to hope that it will look as good (I haven't seen the colour on a vehicle yet) Are there any other glacier silver owners out there, and did you go for the black interior, like me? |

I actually had a 2012 Titanium Silver X5 that I traded in last month to purchase a 2014 Glacier Silver X5. I also have a Glacier Silver 335 and frankly there might be a hint of more blue in the Glacier Silver... otherwise in most lights the colors look nearly identical.
To answer the other question... all our Silver BMW's have had black interiors (4 - 3 X5's and 1 335). As you might imagine we love the color combination... though the forums typically suggest silver as being passé... to each their own. |

Your right... haven't seem much of the silver on this forum. Although another member was picked up by a silver x5 during his Pcd in SC. I would be interested to see the color combination...

Glacier Silver was my first choice, but when I saw it on BMW 7 (was no F15 available) I changed my mind and ordered Dark Graphite. I like silver car, but I do not like common silver that is on almost every car now. I think titanium silver is a bit different than glacier silver. It is pity that BMW doesn't offer different types of silver on X5 that for instance are or were available on other models or cars.

Here's some bad quality iPhone shots of my glacier silver X5 sdrive 35i M-sport!
I agree that silver isn't very common...I see a lot of white and black out here, so glad to be a little different... |

I like silver as well, but like Zuerst, my previous car was silver, so I went with Space Gray...also, I don't think silver was an option with my line and model when I ordered my car.

I can only wish X5 had estoril blue or sakhir orange (first one will probably be available for the pure X5M)... Therefore had to go with Sapphire Black + Mocha Nappa. Silver is a great color though if you're on the practical side of things.

I join the Forum's minority as well with my 30d M-Sport in Glacier Silver and Black Dakota Comfort seats interior. I ordered on Saint Nicholas 2013, but had to slightly change the config mid-January. However I just got the confirmation that our Dear American Friends started to work on it this week (10 March exactly), and the expected delivery in London is for end of April, so only 6-7 weeks from now
I love silver cars and have a "thing" for them.. Had couple of black ones among others before but the silver will always be my ultimate choice. It's my first SUV ever (still not sure about that decision in general, but it's another story...) and I had everybody around saying that a such big truck simply needs to be black, otherwise it will look even bigger than it really is, which frightened me a bit... But then I checked out a Mineral White one in M-sport and immediately fell in love. I didn't take it only because I had a chance to drive it around a bit and see it in this cloudy, rainy and foggy climate of ours here and immediately thought: wow, what looks stunning and shiny in the sun, looks like greyish-dirt all over this car, once the sun dissapears. Then I checked out a Space Grey one which looked also fantastic. The tough decision was between white and grey... and in the end I chose what I love the most, and Glacier Silver it will be... Never mind what others think, it's my car and it's me who has to love its looks, right?? |

How do you like it? The flap at the top, do you think is necessary for X5? It looks bulky at first, but if this protects, I would say def worth.
There is another product similar bumptek. Did you compared when you were looking? Great looking silver x5 btw. |

Glacier Silver
A new member to join the minority . I have Glacier Silver 35i going into production this week, after turning in my 2011 E70 35i. Most of my previous SUVs were silver and Glacier seemed a bit more uncommon then regular silver. During the winter here in NY its the best color to hide the dirt. Also I find that it keeps the car cooler in the summertime.
Here is my modest build Glacier Silver Metallic Black Dakota Leather ZLL Luxury Line ZCW Cold Weather Package ZDA Driver Assistance Package ZPP Premium Package 300 Space-saver spare 417 Rear manual side window shades 456 Multi-contour seats 4NB 4-zone automatic climate control 5DL Surround View 688 Harman Kardon surround sound system |
