I'm having the same issue with my '17 X5.
Dealer fixed it the first time replacing the Vanos Actuator on May 2018. Noise came back in December 2018 and left the car with the dealer for a week. Service Advisor said they couldn't duplicate the noise so no repair was made. January 2019 and the noise is back. Getting the X5 towed to the dealer to see if they can fix the issue. I have numerous videos showing the ticking noise when unlocking/locking the car. |

Hi guys. Resurrecting this old thread. I recently bought a CPO 2017 X5 35i and just noticed this same ticking/clicking noise from the engine bay.
Does anyone know if BMW ever release a SIB for the issue given its probably happened to multiple cars now and is hardly a isolated issue. I see someone posted the parts that were replaced ... is that the definitive fix then? Thanks. |

They also replaced under warranty the drivers seat cushion for sidewall cracks and the drivers safety belt that was fraying !! I guess they don't build them like they use too. |
