Regular, Pro 2 or Ultimate?

Hey everyone. Do you have a race chip tune installed? If so........
1. Which model do you have regular, pro2 or Ultimate?
2. Are you happy with it?
3. Have you had any fault codes?

I'm thinking about getting one for my similar engined 535d as I'm sure others are. So let the survey begin. Thanks in advance.

Also look at these: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1088491 I believe they are all interchangeable among the N57 engines. Some chip makers sell the same even for the 25d variant.

I have the same posted under the "general" bmw discussion forum of this site and it was "featured"...you may get more traction there (http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1088501) from non F15 owners.

I have the Maxchip Pro. I am happy with it. Zero codes thrown. Doing some runs while running dash command, the SAV reached 354 HP and 490 torque. I'm not sure how accurate those numbers are, but I'm pleased since it was a fraction of the RC ultimate.

Julesandtrish , AFAIK, no error messages if you are on default settings.
I have sold a few of the Ultimates for the N57 diesel and I have got nothing but a good feedback on them.

Decided to get the regular race chip. Installed it today and WOW! I'm impressed. Left it at the default setting and no codes. Throttle response seems sharper as well. So far I'm glad I went this route. So far........

I sold the car, so don't have it any more. I did buy one for the X5 35i petrol we picked up and have been running with it for 3 months and no issues. So, between my cars, have been running a Maxchip tuner for 2.5 years with no engine issues.

I got 2015 35d after trading in my 2011 X5 50 , I'm impressed with it's fuel economy , but feeling some lack of power of course , is it big difference in performance with Maxchip Pro ? How about fuel consumption ?

The turbo lag was just about eliminated with the Maxchip. I only got it because it was on sale here in Germany. The max pro is currently on sale for 199 euros and includes shipping if bought from their site. They do warranty the engine for 2 years I believe as well. Also, the changing of the aggressiveness is a plus as well...the fuel consumption when up initially since I was gunning it all the time enjoying the extra torque. The mpg eventually came back up after couple months and even out slightly better than before (1-2 MPG better). We sold the diesel since we needed a third row and something bigger for our family and totally regret it....19 mpg vs 32 is a huge deal when traveling...hope it helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

They sell it for about same price on Canadian Amazon. The price is good , would you recommend Maxchip overall ?
Is there significant performance difference with Maxchip on both Comfort and Sport modes ?

Depends on how aggressive the setting you pick. I think it had 8 setting...I never really messed with it. Anyways, ECO almost felt like comfort. Comfort felt like sports, and I don't remember really putting it on sports since it wasn't really needed once I installed the tuner. You can code to start on eco all the time and get the max mileage all the time. The biggest feeling was the initial acceleration since torque went up and there was almost no turbo lag when punching the gas. Here is a screen shot of dash command during one of my runs with the X5d and the Maxchip so you can see how torque increased...

GM...yeah...you could start on sports mode and drive on it, but are not generating any more HP or Torque. It's a big difference between it.
On our current X3, you can code for the SAV to start on ECO. I have not tried it on the X5.
