How much does she know
Like me, it appears that we all spend a lot on our cars, and probably more than we budget
But does "her indoors" know exactly how much we spend on these cars? My wife is very good at not asking these sort of questions, as long as she see's me happy with my purchase she is happy, but I do wonder if that would be the case if she knew how much I am actually spending How do you guys overcome a potential feud when it comes to the mid life crisis? |

She definitely knows how much the F85 cost, however, she doesn't grasp how much all the mods are running. If she did I don't think I would have them =)

Or your wife is into cars...
I actually tried to get her to go with an 35i or 35d to save a couple hundred a month on the f15 coming from the e70 50i. Not happening. |

Funny post! The wife chalks up my BMW mods as a mid-life crises thing and doesn't ask too many questions. She also acknowledges this is a relatively mild version compared to other types of common male mid-life crises activities!

I tell her 100% how much maintenance and fixes costs. But I also don't screwed on pricing either, so I break down how much I'm saving on parts and labor. With online ordering, I usually get parts at 20% discounts from walk up counter pricing, then independent shops are much cheaper than BMW dealerships.
She knows that we "pay to play". Makes a comment from time to time that we should just "get a Toyota" which I brush off.

The project car in the garage really throws her off the scent.

She knows "enough", but the details would scare her! I keep her at bay with some mods on her whip as well. Seems to work perfectly.

I pleased that I'm not the only one hiding the secret.
Otherwise I would not hear the end of it if it came to her wanting a pair of shoes, clothes, etc. Saying that I did buy her a new MB GLC 250d last year so the seed was planted early for my purchase. Will she drive my new beast - hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I've been lurking the site a while and finally joined last weekend. This thread is just as informative as the "what did you pay" "35 Vs 50" "i Vs d" threads.
Before I get my X5 I've been setting the stage on purchase price and ownership costs. I've got the buy-in, now just waiting for the perfect deal to come along. |

I have the opposite problem.
I don't need to lie. I'm expected to buy progressively more expensive cars. I believe the next purchase is suppose to be a Mercedes G63 for her. Why does every women [including my mom] I know like the Mercedes G-Class?! That thing is so uncomfortable to drive. Anyways if I end up with a X5M next it's not only expected, it's encouraged.

Every woman I know loves the RRSC or LR4 Lux/Landmark... Big comfortable and not cluttered with tech. I am going back to the British after this vehicle but will still have one BMW in the garage.

not big into the mod scene... was spending about 500ish a month on my 2014 335 so when we got the x5 and the payment jumped to 630 i thought she would flip... her response "this car is worth the 630 bucks a month.. the last one.. not so much" i guess thats a good thing. I do spend alot of cleaning/detail supplies tho.. as long as she can go get her manicures and pedicures... we leave each other be.
