New Wheels for the X5 but so many questions
I am having to return our F80 M3 next weekend so my daily driver will now be our 2016 X540d.
I am looking at getting some new wheels, but want to keep the existing tyres as they have only done 3000 miles. The X5 is carbon black and the wheels we are looking at are from ferrada (bronze with a black rim) Photo attached. Questions My existing wheels are 10j and 11j with 275 on the front and 315 on the rears. Can I go for 10.5 and 11.5 with the existing tyre sizes? Also, I have 15mm and 12mm spacers on the M3. The wheel OCD is 120, the bolts and thread pitch are identical, but the main bore is about 2mm larger on the X5 - can I just get these spacers bored out the extra 2mm? Last question Also looking at getting the X5 lowered, can anyone recommend a good workshop in the U.K. To get this work done and an approx cost. Thanks in advance guys. |

I cannot say I have seen aftermarket 20s that look better than OEM 20s. I'd sell the wheels and tires you have on there now, and look at 21s or 22s instead.

Aftermarket 20s always appear small.
Based on dws06 tires, which is same size as oem, a 275 fits up to a 10.5" rim And a 315 fits up to a 12.5" rim You can check your brand of tire on tire rack |

Just bought winters from tirerack OZ front 20x10 and rear 20x11 and they only had 275/40 for all wheels and said the 275 will fit between 9-11" rims. I hope that's not to much of a stretch.

tirerack site recommends 275 all around, but i'd only do that with same width rims front and rear. they offer these in staggered setup: |

Thanks for the helpful reply. Since these are winters I decided to replace the rear 20x11 with matching 20x11. Using the same ties already mounted on the 20x11. Will there be any issues using the same stretched tire and mounting it on the 20x10, I.e. like wear?
Sorry to hijack the thread. And thanks in advance. |

You ascertained correctly. Taking the 275 tire in the 11" rim that is stretched and putting it in a 10". Was a bit paranoid about the tire being stretched to much from being on the 11" and loose on the 10". All in my head. Thanks again. You rock.
