I got the kit from getbmwparts.com. came in 2 days and I took it to local dealer for install. they charged 750 for labor which was cheapest of all dealers on long island. the install does require coding so i recommend you take it to a dealer. one rotor came damaged and I had to buy it from the dealer doing the install but getbmwparts.com immediately reimbursed me for the cost after I sent them pics of the packaging.

it is very expensive especially after considering the labor for install. however whoever says they don't feel a difference is nuts. I feel a significant difference in stopping power and even with my extremely heavy braking rarely get any rotor warp or vibrations (maybe a little when i really really push it). very very happy with the upgrade. the proper size braking system for my use. I am very pleased with them and if you care about braking then I recommend you get them. and yes they look cool too.

BTW I sold my original rotors, calipers, and pads for just under what it cost me to install the new set.

Nothing. Its been tough to follow. In one thread you mentioned getting them installed by an indy in Newark. In another you mentioned dealer had no idea what you were talking about re: coding for the MPBs. Whoever did install these for you and coded them... probably should give it a second look.
Yup. I took it to another dealer who actually knows what they are talking about lol. They took everything apart and re-installed and bled the system. Paid $500 again for same situation.

Maybe the pads suck? But few members been running the powerstop ceramic pads. I'm thinking of replacing rotors and pads all over again
I have the powerstop ceramic on mine and I suspect that they aren't great for stopping power and initial bite. They produce almost no dust though which was really important to me

Ya they're solid pads. Loss of initial bite is standard for all ceramic pads. Also watch the cold if you live somewhere that gets that. They take longer to warm up.

What model X5 do you have? 35? 50i?

While they look great, the 50i brakes are already great. Even held up at an Autocross event I did locally. I guess they also require 20” or larger wheels?

I have 19" wheels for winter use on my 2014 50i. So stock 50i brakes do not require 20" wheels.
50i stock brakes might be really good, but I would not call them great. I can definitely feel the X5 could use a bit more stopping power if one drive a bit more spirited...
