I just noticed a small tear SW of where the screw is.. I wonder if that needs to be inspected as well.. Nonetheless, it is also possible that your tire has road hazard warranty as well. Check into this with your dealer and get your tire replaced for free.

I had a nail on my rear Pirelli Scorpion right around the edge of the tire, slightly more towards the sidewall. Got it patched with a special/more durable patch.

No problems so far (keeping fingers crossed!)

Not a coward. You did what you felt was best for you and your family. Can never argue with that!!

Repair it. On my 328 I had two punctures in the same Conti pro contact run flat tire and had them both repaired. I put another 50,000kms on the tires without a single issue. The X5 is obviously a much heavier vehicle but I wouldn't hesitate to patch the tire for a small puncture such as yours.

I had a screw in mine not too long ago but fortunately it didn't go all the way through so I didn't have to change or repair it. I'd repair it if I were you. It only affects the high speed ratings if you get it repaired but that's supposedly the case.

Repair it for sure!! I have had run flats for about 12 years now. Living in NYC area, I've had many screws and other sharp small objects in my tires. Always repaired, never an issue.

On another note, I want to buy the tires of the people who are replacing them!!

im guessing you dont have tire n wheel insurance.

i just had bmw replace rear tire for same thing, but i have insurance so it was covered.

i would try repairing before gettin new tire.

looks like u tread depth is low, i would check depth on all tires and get new tires

that what i would do in ur case

i have the wheel and tire package that i purchased at signing....what exactly does that mean when i get a nail, flat, or curb rash on the wheel?

how do i go about claiming and what would it cost?
curb rash and tire replacement.... and can i puncture all 4 tires when they are treadless for low cost replacement??!?!?! hah

i didnt think it was worth it to replace the tire becaue all other tires are low tread, but plenty left, and i hate riding 1 new 3 low, with 4 wheel drive....
