I can't close my door.

I have soft close doors and for some reason it won't close. The hinge that latches into the door will not open. I hope I'm explainimg this clearly because I don't want to go to bmw tomorrow (I dislike them). I currently have taped the doors so that it won't open. How embarrassing. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

when you have issues like this, record them so you can show bmw service dept.
sometimes when the car goes to sleep for long period of time, it kind of reboots itself and problem goes away temporarily. Definitely take the car in as it can be safety concern. you dont want the doors to open up while you are driving with passengers.

Thanks for your response. I'm not worried about having the doors opening as it can't even close. I wish I can post a picture or video that I have recorded but apparently it's too large.

I will try when I get up. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a battery on the left side of the trunk though. Hopefully I can get it fixed by the time I have my meeting or I have to steal my brothers CLS. With my luck I will bust his as well.

Take a screwdriver or pen and try to pull latch out while pulling door handle.

Why mess with this? Just take it in for service.

Just disconnect the battery, easy, and see what happens before wasting even more time at the dealer. Have you had any luck with anything ?

I guess my 'truck' was just grumpy at me for closing the door too many times and refused to cooperate. She just needed some sleep but she is over it now.

In less than 12 hrs your car changed from not closing doors to the point you need to tape doors with the tape to "its over now". Wow)))
