Aftermarket Wheels too heavy??

Anyone experience too heavy aftermarket wheels?

As a starting place for a comparison, I happened to weigh my stock 20" 469M wheels with the stock Pirelli PZeros. They weight about 77 pounds a piece in the rear, 73 in the front.

The dealer is full of it.

Stock 20" 469 with RFT tires are extremely heavy. Each wheel was about 80lbs when I weigh them. My 22" BBS wheels with non RFT tires actually weighed a few lbs LESS and they are not considered light wheels by any means.

Dealer saw big wheels and that was the easiest thing to blame.

Heavy wheels will not hurt the bushings, it will hurt your wallets mostly since it require more energy to spin it.
What damage those bushings are the weight of the car and road conditions.
If your dealer even comes back with the tire thickness, tell them that the non RFT flexes or absorb more of the impact than the standard RFT.

A good friend of mine has 22" Vossen VFS1s on his X5 and they are significantly lighter than the OE wheels we took off. I was actually quote surprised.

OEM rims are heavier than most aftermarkets. Dealer is just trying to blame it on you, if they are so sure the wheels are heavier then tell them to weight them both.

I have Vossen VFS1's on my X5. I don't find them any heaver than the stock 20's.

22x10 and 22x12 riding on 295's and 335's.
