Burned out on the 1st song in my iTunes library

Anybody else sick of hearing the intro to the 1st song in their iTunes library when the iPhone connects?

Never been an issue for me, but I don't have anything in my iTunes library (I use Spotify). Definitely a pain through, I know when my gf drives my X5, the same Lady Gaga song always starts playing when she selects Media in iDrive.

Yes. I use Spotify for music, so I just deleted the Apple Music app from my phone.

OMG! I am so glad I am not the only one sick of hearing that first song in my iTunes library!

Kzang says "I put my song on random for that very reason". I did not know this would fix that problem. I'll give it a shot.

What I ended up doing is pulling the metatags for the first song that always starts playing and downloading a .mp3 with a minute of blank audio, and then renaming said .mp3 with the matching metatags, and then overwriting the song on my iPhone.

Elegant? No. Does it work? Yes. Do I have to listen to the opening guitar riff of A Little More Summertime anymore? Absolutely not.

Nice! You have recently pointed out that my M-Sport is fake tinsel because it is not a true ///M car and now I have the pleasure of knowing that my iPhone sucks too... Good stuff, thanks!

OK, I am 53 years old so this is way above my pay grade. How do you "pull a metatag" (and what, precisely is a metatag?), what is an ".mp3" and how do you download it?

In short, can you dumb this down for me? I have an iPhone 6. Any help would be appreciated.

@pineradylan is saying that he basically replaced the first song in his music library with a minute of blank audio.

For the purpose of dumbing it down, just think of an mp3 as a music file or a track that is compressed so that it doesn't consume a large amount of storage space. Metadata is data that provides information about other data, so in this case the name of the artist and the name of the song would be referred to as the metadata.

This is all done on a computer via the iTunes application and the modified track is then synced (sent) to the iPhone.

Just hit that Shuffle button on your iPhone.

Chadmatic, I really appreciate your explanation. I now understand it. However, I think I am going to stick with Kzang's suggestion of selecting shuffle on my iPhone. I know I can do that!
