Engine light on but Check ok?
My Engine light came on today and I thought that it was because my oil was about to be due, just done a oil change but it's still on. No service required and All Systems Check okay... could it have something to do with the Diesel fluid or would a separate light come up? I'm jut wondering what could be going on as no message pops up...

Check engine light is for an emission related issue.
In CPO warranty - just take it to the dealer. Post what codes were stored and what repairs are done. If not you will need to readout the BMW codes. |

Gotcha, I bought the vehicle new year and a half ago. I will get the car checked out at the dealership and see what's going on. Just though that there should be some indication that something is wrong besides the light.

these are two wild guesses as the CEL could be triggered by many things but i put my money on air filter clogged, evap canister issue, loose or faulty gas cap.

Should be covered under emission warranty, 8 years or 80,000 miles!

The Clean Air Act requires manufacturers of light-duty vehicles to provide two federal emission control warranties: (A) "Performance Warranty" and (B) "Design and Defect Warranty." ... Specified major emission control components are covered for the first 8 years or 80,000 miles (whichever first occurs).

Spoke with my service advisor and she spoke with the warranty manager and was told that this part is not covered under the emissions 80k warranty and rather only up to 50k. Too bad... - Unfortunately there is no book out there where I could go and look if that's actually true or lack of knowledge...
