I debadged the side "XDrive 35i" right away as well, but I wasn't sure about the "X5" in the back so I kept that.

BUT after reading this thread and seeing how clean the rear deck looks, I debadged the rear this afternoon and I love how it looks!

The "BMW" visor is very good, folds easily, rigidity & gives great coverage. I really felt uncomfortable with the big black bold letters "BMW", so 2 years ago, I slapped on the always useful duct tape.

Debadge Sides

I debadged the side emblems on mine as well... mostly because the added side vent covers and M logo were overkill along with the factory stuff.

Just so that you won't be surprised, there is no way to remove the emblem itself from the whole casing without damaging it. I painted the chrome casing black and replaced the original emblem with the black and white one just today.

To all,

Here is my X6 de-badged by the dealer before delivery. I like the look. Having the X6 on the back isn't the bad one. The "X Drive 50i" on the side of the car is the one that is immature at best. A fictitious engine reference, and a something that says "I drive an all wheel drive car". It's as bad as the big 4X4 that they put on the F150's that I bought, that was immediately taken off.

I also debadged the sides first and waited to see how I felt about the rear X5 badge. I removed it the following day.
