Nope, but smearing or plastering should be okay.

This thread, and the back and forth is amusing.

Lots of personal opinions. Good. Respect to each and every one.

Factory made and sold based on manufacturers specs. Thumbs up. Imho.

Addditions made to try and represent something that's farsical, well...imho, not so much.

But life is short. Enjoy your own thing. Let's let others do the same. All will be well.

I don't recall saying that. If I did, that is an error.

As for removing the performance badging, I'd do the same after my second or third M/AMG.

I understand the difference. Not complicated.

Factory vs owner "flare". To you, it's different, to me...not so much. It's okay if we see it differently.

This guy has every one of us beat.

But it's ok, because it's his car so no harm, no fowl.

This was found in another thread but I had to post it here as well because of the heated (yet surprisingly mature) debate happening in this thread.

The person has to agree with you to "get it". There's no possibility of a difference of opinion.

ok.

I hope this thread doesn't make you look at your M logos differently each time you enter your 35i.

Here's the summary:
1. ///M badge on the rear hatch - Cardinal Sin, punishable by (interweb) stoning
2. F85 front grille w/ the X5M logo - Injustice, go to your house of worship of choice this weekend
3. X5M side vents - HOA Nuisance equivalent, you shoulda purchased the ones w/o the ///M, you now must forego a guilty pleasure for one week
4. ///M shift knob cover - only the service techs will look at you funny so that's on you
5. ///M startup splash screen - since the splash screen doesn't always appear, chances of a service tech seeing it are low, so no-harm, no-foul! You can always blame it on a software glitch.
6. Putting ///M on a Benz, //AMG on an Audi, or S/RS on a BMW - instant cancellation of your ISP acct for life

There you go. The badging bible according to Doanster. Things getting a bit too serious around here.

ps I'm guilty of #4 and #5...

#5 - Spash screen will always appear as long as you unlock the car and start it up immediately. There is a time limit and I haven't confirmed the exact time. Maybe 15 seconds?

Eh, I think I'll just change it to the Santa Claus splash screen and call it a day!

You're upset now because every time you see your M logos you feel a bit like a poseur.

The irony of it is that you started this thread bashing someone else for their M logo.

X1M or ///MX1

I was fortunate to see a unicorn today while cruising on the autobahn, the X1M or ///MX1.
