has anyone changed their light bulbs
I'm new to x5 and I noticed that a lot of people actually like LED headlights. however, when I ordered my x5 I wasn't thinking too much about it because I didn't mind xenon either but I don't like how its like yellowish white. I actually would like blueish white, but I'm wondering if anyone here changed their xenon light bulbs to different sets or any recommendations if you guys did change to blueish white thanks in an advance!

any aftermarket HID bulbs in 6000K color will get u a bluish tint, any brand will do, just depends on how much u wanna spend vs how long it'll last before burning out. my suggestion, get a set of philips, but there are plenty of fakes out there so u must buy it from a reputable seller. 5000K is more white without the yellow, where as 6000K is more bluish tint.

With that said Morimoto has excellent HID's and they're relatively inexpensive and high quality. I used them for the life of my AMG where i had HID Hella fogs and OEM HID headlights. And they have a great warranty as well should they fail.

Not sure I'm reading this thread correctly, but I thought with Xenon head lights, bulbs cannot be replaced as they are sealed within the light fitting and filled with gas

Take a look at Orsam CBI HID bulbs, quality product and I think they make 5500k color as well. Lots of people over on the Infiniti forum I follow have used these to achieve a whiter HID light.

I've never considered BMW HIDs to be "yellow" at all, especially the F15's. Whatever you do... please do not go to 7000K or above. These aren't FastnFurious Sport Compacts we are driving...

all factory HID bulbs have a color temp of 4300K as it is closest to the color of the light output from the sun which is also the most usable light, any higher in color temp will result in a blue-er light tint but the trade off is light output. some manufactor's oem HID lights look blue-er than others is due to the projector lens construction. the e46 era projectors and the first gen acura TSX were notorious for their blue tint look, all because of how the lens diffracts light.

OSRAM CBI and Phillips Ultinon are solid bulbs but very expensive. $200-250 and easily faked on places like ebay. So be careful.
