GAP insurance (UK)
Curious to know if buyers have opted for the BMW offered GAP / wheels etc insurance or if you've gone elsewhere. I've seen what look to be good deals in comparison to the £2700 quoted by BMW but, like so many other things found on the internet, am a little cautious.
Has anyone got any recommendations? |

Hi Mijoed,
Don't buy the BMW products as the mark ups are 2-3 times more than if you bought through an independent company. When I bought my X5 in April I did a lot of shopping around to get the best deal on GAP insurance. In the end the best product was through a company called ALA GAP Insurance. I went for vehicle replacement + GAP on a £50k cover for 5 years costing £335. Also purchased tyre insurance for 21" wheels with same company max claim £300 per tyre based on 5 claims over 3 year period. Alloy insurance was thrown in by BMW when negotiating the car deal. Hope this helps but there are definitely better deals on line. Cheers

One thing I forgot to mention - if you shop around on line and find the cheapest equivalent price, ALA will match this figure. So don't go with ALA quoted price to start with.
Hope this helps.
