Maybe just a bit No, but really, I like 50i sound more, but that Porsche is no slouch either (especially for $116-160k price)

Is the cayenne 6 or 8 cylinder? Sounds great, but I prefer the n63 if I ///M being very honest.

Sounds great man! Need to do this as soon as it gets warm again.

It's V8 - Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S are basically 50i and x5m in Porsche world, only a lot more expensive. Really it doesn't get any better than this, especially for the money this mod needs and reversibility (if needed)

the only good thing on the Porshe is that when you switch from Normal to Sport .. Sport + ... that change the sound to more sporty and aggressive

Interesting, but I'm kinda feeling that exhaust sound got quieter recently. Not sure if it's just me getting accustomed to sound or ECU/DME got so efficient at covering excessive sound? Hmmmm.... Any thoughts guys and girls? Is it time to install DPs (which kinda worries me because it will be a straight pipe essentially)?

While I have definitely noticed it has gotten quieter than when I first drove away from the shop, I feel it is just enough. I am not looking to get really loud Andy I feel this is just aggressive enough yet civilized to make it well worth the small investment.

I think we need a mhd type flasher to reset adaptations. Would be able to tell for sure. My guess is the dme has adjusted the wastegate position and maybe leaned the fuel mixture. I honestly would not do dps on this sav. The smell alone is enough to deter most.

In your guesstimate opinion, how loud is it now compare to with stock muffler? 50%? 100%? How many miles now since you did the muffle delete?
I am thinking about doing it but I get up to work at 5am. I do not wish to wake up everybody at 5am.

If stock is about 3 on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 been loudest), then after muffler delete it's about 6. It's all very subjective.
Cold starts are loud, especially at 5am, but shifting from Park to Drive momentarily and back - will cancel loud cold start sequence. Otherwise it's very manageable. If you drive very carefully - no one will even notice sound increase

For those that have done the mod, what have you done with the exhaust valve wiring?

Am about to do it on my 35i. There is a compartment next to it that houses the brake sensor.. Would try and put it there if possible.
Not sure the 50i model has that valve.

Just for laughs, I have removed the connection between the cats and the downpipe to hear the "raw" sound coming directly from the manifold.

Check this out

Crazy sound!.. The turbo whistle is loud and more pronounced. It’s funny how the engine rambles like an E63 AMG

The guy in the workshop suggested that I go with a custom downpipe (Catless) + X pipe + removed muffler. But after doing my research, I don't think it’s worth it. As I don’t want to play “mouse and cat” with the dealership to protect my warranty.. It’s just too complicated and a lot of work needs to be done
I'll just get rid of the muffler and wild an X pipe and see how things will turn out (very satisfied about what has been shared in this thread so far!)

Has anyone done this in Tri-state NY area and do you recommend the shop that did it. If so, PM me or just post on the wall here for others. Thanks
