On the fence regarding preowned 2014 MSport xDrive50i
I stumbled across a local dealer offering a 2014 xDrive50i M-Sport fairly loaded up:
Unfortunately the miles are high (40,500) and the price is firm at $54K, but it appears well-maintained and is in good condition for the mileage. I have the full service history from the prior owner, the residual BMW Maintenance Plan and original Tire & Wheel coverage package is transferable. The relationship with my local BMW dealership is top-notch, having purchased my prior 335i from them, and my former SA is ready to assist with anything on this X5. I'm coming from a near-pristine CPO 2014 Audi SQ5 built exactly the way I wanted with just 14,500 on the clock and a ton of fun mods ready to go in the garage. The F15 would have been my first choice but I didn't need anything so roomy and the SQ5's mannerisms drew me in to try something different-- it really feels light on its feet and is easy to toss around. Should I bite? The dealer offered a fairly high trade number on my SQ5 but I'd be sad to see it go with the way I cared for it. |

I've driven this F15 in question and came away with a couple sticking points:
-It was built with the rear comfort seating option, but no rear climate for some reason. Rear climate became packaged with Executive for MY15. -It has the first-gen ZF 8HP. Is this a disadvantage over the revised ZF 8HP with a wider ratio set for 2015+? BMW claims the transmission revision results in a reduction of .2 sec 0-60 -Noticing a hesitation and varied "surging" feel when laying on the throttle. I suspect misfires with the N63tu. Two coil packs were recently replaced on it and it's worth another look by the dealer. -A consistent plastic rattle to the rear of the interior, especially when hot |

Just took a look at it on the website, and it certainly looks like a very nice example. I don't think the price is bad at all, and you have some very desirable options. DHP is a rare find, especially with all the other creature comfort packages it comes with. I would not worry about the fact is has 40K miles.
Question: does it have extended maintenance? Or is this factory maintenance? Isn't it $700 to transfer that? |

Yeah, it looks great and is configured nearly the way I want except for DHP, Ventilated Seats, LED Lighting and interior trim. I'd also be on the hook for transportation to get it back to TX and finding a buyer for my car.
