The almighty suspension questions again, Sorry!

(I'm waiting on a MY17 X5 order)..I have been going nuts reading through the forums about suspensions on the X5, Maybe one can help. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like most are complaining that the stock suspension isn't "Sporty" enough?? I am coming from a '14 535xi with stock suspension (Luxury pkg) and extremely pleased. I haven't test drove an X5 long enough to really dig deep into the ride nor to criticize. I need help, I'm looking for a ride similar to my 535xi which I can only describe as 75% Luxury/25% sport. Will I get this on an X5 or will I need to order the adaptive M or DDC? I'm extremely concerned with the reports of passenger motion sickness and/bouncing of the ride.

THANKS!

DHP? No motion sickness. Adaptive M? No motion sickness. Stock suspension? No motion sickness.

Sounds like your looking for a soft plush bouncy ride. Stick with the stock suspension.

DHP no motion sickness.
Very happy with how well it works on our crappy California roads.

Good to hear! I just picked up a F15 3rd row with the standard air suspension... The old E70 we had, the family had car sickness all the time. Wife was happy with the testdrive and ride home. Felt alot more floaty, smooth and comfortable. It didn't bounce around like the E70... that thing was really bad.

i never felt this way on our E70. I fact, i think the E70 handled very well compare on the F15. you might of had a dampered that went out on your e70.

I had to replace some ball bearing at 60K miles, paid out of pocket because warranty wasn't covered even though it was suppose to be CPO. I just didn't wanna deal with it anymore but if the dampers went out they didn't catch it at service. However, there has been alot of complaints of the bouncy ride and car sickness of the E70 on the forums.

I have experience in both MSport Adaptive and Stock suspension. My fiend bought the stock and I got the MSport, but we got the same 20' rims and tires. Listen to me, the comfort mode in MSport is a lot more smooth, softer and refine than in the stock, you can feel the difference, it's a lot more comfortable. The stock is a little harsh going over bumps and stuff, it's like it's trying to balance between comfort and sports since it's not adaptive.

Definitely if you're looking for comfort, get the MSport, and in sports mode it gets pretty stiff. But a few of my friends rode in my X5 have all said the comfort mode is extremely nice and smooth!

I'm not sure about DHP since I've never experienced it but I heard it's really good! But with the not so great amount of power that the base X5 have, the MSport adaptive is more than sufficient!

Stock suspension on 20" 469m and the ride is fantastic... Just took a three-hour trip to Austria last weekend and not a single complaint. Multi-contour seats help too I'm sure. If there was an issue with comfort of the stock suspension, my wife would have reported it by now...
