Did you try changing the units on the idrive in settings? If that doesn't work then I have no idea.

You can change the measurement to mph is idrive. To make the car legal I would think you will need to code tpms and add the sensors.

I imagine the bigger problem is you're basically exporting to the US and would be subject to the laws that govern importing vehicles into the US... even though they obviously sell the car here, the speedometer would be the least of your problems.

KMH <--> MPH is one of the options that cannot be easily coded. It requires programming.

Really? I checked today on the idrive and change all my settings to miles and my speedometer was showing my mph instead of kmh

So SLI and speed warnings are now displayed in miles on KOMBI/HUD/HU where they were kilometers before?

Having owned and spent sometime on the 1M board - where more than a few 1M's have been imported - it seems like there's some paperwork involved, but that it's not that complicated (if the buyer is US based, importing for sale is more complicated).

Outside of the paperwork and the 1-year non-export agreement that you sign with BMW, exporting is quite easy. I believe Shaw did this.

Changing the distance unit to miles also changes the HUD to mph
