In the leasing scenario, you are pretty much locked with the market values and the dealership more so than if you would sell the vehicle yourself.
Lets say that the residual value of the X5 at the end of lease is (hypothetical number) $40,000.. the value that BMW will offer to you if you decided to purchase it after the lease is up. Before the lease ends, you can try to sell your X5 privately (as you have been doing) for more than what the residual value offered by BMW and pocket the cash!
This is what we all have been trying to get you understand regarding the benefits of leasing especially since you only keep cars every 2 to 3 years!

My 2015 X5d arrived at dealer 10 days ago. I delayed delivery until 11-4 to see if any incentives are introduced at that time. Was unaware of this thread until now.

No doubts about moving forward with the deal. Prior was a 2012 X5d which son now has - probably one of the best cars owned (6th BMW).

Would love to see significant incentives introduced - feel sorry for BMW as the f*c^ers at VW have really f*c^ed things up for diesel.

As a diesel fan, however, this paragraph alone is all I needed to deviate from diesel at this given point in time...you never know what comes out of this in a year time...it's best to stay away from it until the dust it settled "completely".

So is that mean you will go for the 35i engine now?

Shaw, you won't be disappointed with the 35. It's a good engine. I think it has good balance between power and fuel consumption. I'm pretty impressed with it and I think the gas mileage is great! Mind you I came from a 4.8L which was quick and a pig on gas. Combined the 35i has been sitting at 10.6L / 100km just over 800 KM' son a tank. It feels like I went to a diesel. Like you I'll be moving to another in the future and hopefully an X7 as well.

Congrats!

Thank you!
Yes i think given all the circumstances, 35i is a more sensible choice.
Plus that I can't wait for an indefinite release of diesel...(Well at least I tried to buy one anyways)
50i isn't an option either...40e is not yet released in Canada (40e doesn't come with 3rd row due to battery cavity, so that's pretty much ticked off the list)
So coming to think of it, I don't even have a 2nd option!

LOL. I was just about to say the same thing. I'm in. I'll start saving now and we'll head on over to Parkview.

I've purchased 4 bimmers from 3 different dealers so far...
Two of them including this one is Town + Country.
One from Toronto BMW and another from Georgian.
I've never purchased one from Parkview.
Is that where you normally get yours?

Yes, we know the Quinns who own Parkview, Toronto and Grand River so the drive from Oakville to Leaside is well worth the trip
