BMW Software Update to Address Apple iOS 10 Bluetooth Music Issues
I've seen a couple of posts related to this topic; however, no solution has helped me.
Since Apple's iOS 10 Update, I'll see a Playlist and maybe even be able to play a few seconds of music before everything stops. When I took my vehicle in for service several days ago, I asked about this and was told by my service advisor that BMW was working on a solution. My vehicle is a 2014 and all software is up-to-date. Has anyone had success in overcoming this issue?

I'm not on iOS 10, but have recently had an annoying issue. This also happens with our '16 328i GT. I'll be playing a song via Bluetooth, and after 30 or so seconds, the music will stop playing and I'll have to select my phone again as part of the available bluetooth devices, press down on the iDrive and it'll start playing again. But after doing this a few times, it becomes extremely annoying. It only recently started doing this, but it's across two of our BMWs.

Not sure what phones you folks have, but I've never had problems streaming via Bluetooth from an iPhone 6, 6s, 7, or any of the Plus variants.

The issue is that I receive a call, and the connection is established but I can only hear the caller. The caller can not hear me

I have that exact same issue with the Galaxy 7 Edge. My wife has an iPhone 6 and it's also messed up in these OS updates. My other phone is a Windows Phone it seems to connect flawlessly thus far even after a few updates.

I don't see this as a BMW issue - it is/was an iPhone 7 issue for some as previous iphones worked fine with no changes to BMW software, it has to be phone hardware/software combination issue. |

I do not have any issue(s) connecting, streaming music, or talking. I even receive messages in idrive. Those who have issues should use easy troubleshooting steps like rebooting their devices, removing your BMW from bluetooth menu, forgetting device in idrive as well, and pairing them again.

The only issue I'm having is that when a new text message comes in, I only get the banner notification in the car -- no sound. My phone is not muted. All other sounds work fine, Siri, reading messages, etc.

iOS 10.1 cured this 100% for my 7 as well as my wife's. 10.0, 10.01, 10.02, and 10.03 all froze my car. Make sure you have the latest iOS update.

I was having the same issue, but found that reformatting and updating to the latest iOS fixed the issue. BMW/Apple acknowledged there were connectivity issues back in Sept? but ever since the latest update, I've had zero issues.
