599 vs 310 wheels

I ordered 599 but thinking of switching it to 310. I have until tomorrow to decide. What you guys think?

Here are some pics to help you decide. I like my 310 style. Both are really nice, though.

310M 22":

599M 21":

310 look a bit too aftermarket for me, 599s are classier.. No guessing I went for the 599s on mine.

You'd be surprised at how many positive comments the 310M gets. Everyone I've met ask what OEM style the wheels are. There's nothing aftermarket about them in terms of looks, but that's just my opinion and everyone else who has seen my car in person .

599M is still really nice. I was debating between the two for a while, but settled for the 310M because I only paid $1628 for both wheels and tires; plus, 22" tires are cheaper/more common than 21" tires.

I would say if you liked your 451's and just wanted something bigger, the 599's are similar and look even better. If you weren't in love with the look of the 451's, go with 310's.

Just got the 599s installed. It's a bit noisy. This doesn't look normal.

Yeah, ok from what I have looked up and remember seeing on my car, that tire pressure is wayyyy too high. They should be around 37 or so in the front and around 44 in the rear for stock 19" - the 599 maintain the same diameter profile so they should follow similarly. I'll check my 22" to make sure, but I remember the readings being close to those. What I have read is that the higher psi creates a stiffer ride/more responsive handling - but that's also why you have more noise.

Here's an example of Tire Pressure Reading on a new stock F15 X5: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=916775

@sirajkas: Also, just a friendly tip - use windows image viewer for your pics when you put them on your computer and push the turn arrow button to flip it 90 degrees. This will auto save your picture in that view so when you post your image for us to see, it won't require us to turn our heads 90 degrees to see your nice pics, lol .

UPDATE: Ok, after much research on different vehicles for 22" tires and 21" tires, the standard for the front seems around 38 and the back seems to be 42. Some run 40 front 42 rear. So for 21", I'd stay close to those numbers give or take 1. Also, if you have a good tire/wheel guy or whoever you installed your wheels from, ask them to look at the door side where the psi STANDARD numbers are located and compare that to what they should be for your 21" tires (if you have time and want to exhaust all options before making your final decision).

Thanks guys.. Will definitely post the pics in the morning. Tried to upload from iPad but it didn't allow me because of the resolution. The 599s on the black sapphire does look awesome though..

Opasha, For now, I will go with the numbers you recommended.

I PM'ed you just now. The manual located here: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...modelcode=14XJ on page 212 and 213 explains the tire pressures that you should use for your specific tire sizes. So for everyone that is reading this, stick close to 35-36 front and 42-44 rear if you have 21" wheels.

After seeing the pics, I really like them both...would definitely have a hard time choosing. That said, if I HAD TO pick one, I'd go with the 310's.

How close is the grey in the wheels to space grey? It looks much darker. Almost graphite grey. Anyone know for sure? Do the colors clash or do they flow well on Space Grey?

For what it's worth, 599 look bigger than the 310 wheels appear.
