Dealer offered me 2K off. I think they could do better. Still debating on the X5M. Awaiting some reviews and comparison test before I take the plunge.

I figured they could wiggle. I went into a local dealership on Sunday and they refused to negotiate. I'm going to shop around.

remember there is more to a deal then money off MSRP. They may give you X off but mark up fees and rates only to make more off then you were discounted.

MSRP with no up charges would be a good deal at launch I would think

I've got my own financing @ 1.75-1.99%, so that's a non-issue. The BS "Destination and handling" fee is $950, I've always been able to get rid of that. So what else can they play with? I can walk into any of the 5 dealerships in the area right now and buy one of the 2 x5ms they are allocated monthly @ MSRP. Why in the world would I buy from any particular dealership unless I get something out of it?

My next stop is the place I bought my m coupe in 2008. They said they would play ball, but I'd like to hear from some folks who have ordered M vehicles in the past to get an idea of what I can reasonably expect to knock off the purchase price.

GOLFERR, what is the dealer invoice on an x5m spec'd to a price of $108,950?

I am not sure what invoice would be, that would be a David question sorry. you can subtract 6-7% off MSRP and that usually will give you a rough estimate.

Out here in SoCal dealers like to mark up a lot. I would not be surprised to see other dealers around us 5k over MSRP on these at launch. And if allocations continue to be low like all the rest of the BMW line up has been as of late, negotiating will be a tad tougher but def doable IMO. I believe we are at MSRP at most and David may be a little under but I don't know where he stands on those right now I apologize. He will be back in the office on the 2nd from holiday.

I got 4% at my local dealer. I'm holding up for at least 6%. No way I'll pay sticker. Don't buy into the whole "this thing is special and limited" BS. This is what dealers love to push. When I was interested in an F80 M3, my local dealer wanted MRSP plus 2.5K. I smiled and walked out. Now they are offering 5% off. Ya. Usual dealer head games. I say wait it out then see how it plays. Let the M fanatics who are willing to pay dollar for their X5M take the hit for us

The depreciation hit on these cars a big. Look at the previous generation.

man, i'm torn... i know the X5/X6M will be beastly, but i'm so confused...

no one seems to be sure if the new models will have the all digital tachs or the old one from the current X5.

Also, if the 50i is really anywhere near 4.3 lets just say for arguments sake it's 4.5 when averaged out and not done by professionals....

getting that Dinan Tune and not losing warranty on the car would probably push it to 4.3 (or if the MT numbers are correct, from 4.3 to maybe even 4.1? or 4.0?) -

Then that's completely in range of the X5/X6M...

I know BMW has typically underrated their engines but hitting 4 seconds on a massive SUV is a pretty big feat, i don't think it's going to be better than 3.8 (if even)

This is insanely difficult, i feel like the dichotomy has been so screwed up for us current buyers.

Then you see random numbers being thrown around that the X6M will be sold at $130k and it really seems to be a complete waste of time.

practically fully loaded X6 M sport is $97700 and can probably be talked down to 94000 (probably more but i'm just being safe). 94000+3000 dinan stage 1 and I save essentially a car?

Seems kind of disproportionate. I really really like the new X5/X6M, but it just seems so off.

Hey Neurotichamster, thanks for the tip! Just put my deposit on a fully loaded model, they say I will be one of the first 50 people in the world to own the car. It has almost every option, including the B&O stereo, except for the rear seat entertainment and the night vision.

Also just found out BMW is likely to announce some kind of incentive for me to trade in my x5 since it has the n63 engine. Apparently there's some gigantic recall on it.

Yess!!

Congrats! Same order as me, except you decided to pony up for the B&O stereo ;p. Do you have an estimate of when yours is due? Must be imminent if you're one of the first 50?...

There are only 44 cars allocated for the US at this point, 43 of which had been sold prior to my deposit. Obviously there will be more allocations with time. No delivery date yet.

I hear this is only for the n63 engine, not the n63tu, which I believe is what you have. Supposedly the recall is for n63 engine vehicles produced between 2010-2012. Rumor is that details of an incentive will be released tomorrow @ 2p. Of course, this information appears to be preliminary so there is always a chance it won't materialize. Fingers crossed. The 5.0 has been great to drive but it has definitely had its share of issues from the get go, injectors, rough idle, burning oil, smoke machine, etc...

The recall only covers vehicles built up to 2013. The 2014 X5 doesn't qualify.

Yay fatmatt! I'm one of the 44, too.

The BMW bulletin I was quoted by a friend at NA said 56% for 36/12 and .0013.

I don't mean to doubt you, but released next week?

My 2014 X6 is covered, as it still has the N63 engine. E70/E71 50i variants all used the N63, the N63tu only made it into the F generation X5 and X6.

Jealous of all you guys with allocation! Curious, when did you submit your orders?

I ordered mine in early December, which was the first ordered car (and therefore #1 in the order bank) at the dealership, but they're still holding on allocation . I'd hoped to hear this week for February allocation, but the fact that I didn't would mean we're now looking at March earliest

MY CA said that this is one of their launch vehicles they are letting me have. It is scheduled to leave factory 1/9. If everything goes as planned should arrive next week.

Do you know where i can get a copy of the residual and MF to show my CA?a

Still confused. No launch vehicles are part of this model introduction as far as I'm aware.

Your CA can see it in their portal.

Sounds like HEA car. News to me. I've seen that code applied to first wave cars before that are dealer stock but sounds like you custom built this.
