Time to Replace Brakes and Rotors

So it's time to replace my rotors so I figured I might as well replace the brake pads also. I've been looking at the Power Stop Drilled and Slotted brake kits as a possible replacement. I called a body shop b/c seeing that I'm working on the brake it would be cool to Powder Coat my calipers. The guy at the body shop strongly advised against after market brakes and rotors.

Has anyone had problems with after market Drilled and Slotted rotors on their X5 F15?

You going to have your x5 on blocks for days waiting for calipers to be powder coated?

I've seen a few brake kits with the colored calipers included but none of them are compatible with the X5.

Well be sure to order new caliper piston seals and boots.

After two sets of OEM brake sets, I will go aftermarket next year. The dust is simply un-acceptable.

That's one of the things I'm trying to avoid. The brake dust is just too much.

Couple people used power stop here:

Did not see any issues reported. Also mentioned here:

Most of the people here use Akebono pads (including myself), very happy with results.

I'm conflicted because I'd like to get one of those two but FCPeuro doesn't sell them. Now it's either get the OEM pads from FCP and never have to buy another set or get stoptech. Plus I don't think Akebono makes front for the 50i.

For 50i StopTech might be a very good alternative, this guy just posted update recently.

Back to powerstops, seems like on par with Zimmerman, just cheaper. And no rush, with Akebono should provide little dust. Anybody have this combination for some time? Any issues?
