Idiot needs part number for side mirror

Happy Friday, all. I come to you in shame. I'm embarrassed to admit that I whacked my passenger side mirror backing out of the garage.

Can someone please tell me the part number for the black part that I destroyed? I can't tell if I need a whole new mirror assembly or if I can just buy that part. It seems to be the part that connects the mirror to the vehicle.

I wonder if this separate or it will need the whole housing.
Could not find an OEM part on ebay.

I may have to swing by the parts dept and ask. I really don't need everything that comes with the whole housing. There must be a part number just for the piece I need.

I did the same thing last year. Was not difficult to rem/repl. Once you pop the mirror glass out, there are 8 or so screws that hold it in place. Make sure you get the correct one (blind spot or not) as the blind spot light is not a separate part.

Good to hear, thank you! I did make sure to order the one with what is presumably the clear triangle thing. Did you use a special tool to pop the glass out?

Think i could swap these with my non-lane change indicator mirrors? I'm sure i would need some wiring done?

Do you have the cameras/sensors to detect vehicles? If not, it's really not worth it IMO. The lights are pretty dim, I rarely pay attention to them and am well ingrained in the habit of a half head turn to physically check the blind spot.

Hey, thanks! Step 1 just says remove mirror glass. Is it just a matter of prying it off?

No special tool - just adjust it to an extreme then pop it out with your fingers.

I agree the blind spot monitoring on this vehicle is the worst...I never see it, just drive old school. The lights are either too dim during the day or not in the spot I need, but either way I forget I even have the option. On our Escalade ESV I use it all the time.

Did your turn signal strip get damaged too?

No fortunately not. Just the black frame.

For the thread title alone, if I had one of these mirror surrounds, I'd send it to you for free.

Haha, I appreciate that! Sometimes, you just have to suck it up and call it like it is.
