I just got this from my CA (I've ordered an X6M vs an X5M, but I'd guess they're close/same) - 36 mth lease

Your CA. This info isn't typically posted online.

It's an internal BMW term. It's German for Handler-Erst-Ausstattung which translates to Dealer First Equipment. Basically, the first production cars built heading to dealers for vehicle launch/marketing purposes. They're typically fully or near fully optioned and often hit the order bank before launch, meaning they usually can't be custom configured. But that isn't always true.

Hopefully your stealership updated those lease numbers by now - they're way worse than the ones I was quoted / locked in with BMWFS :| (60%, 0.00130) |

"His" car is being held at VPC right now, since 1/8. Along with any others. BMW hasn't released them yet. This car is also marked HEA, not sold to a customer (P1), heading to BMW of Austin.

LOL. You seem like a man who may know - when are they releasing them? Still remarkably few (ie zero) allocations flowing out apparently also, I assume tied to them not yet being released to market?

That is correct. Was expected to arrive on 1/9. Any idea when these are being released? MY CA tells me EPA has to do their testing before they can release the car. |

I'm hearing early to mid February for HEA cars, with customer vehicles starting to arrive after. However, I haven't seen anything concrete yet. Once I know a date I'll share it.
EPA testing is part of the development cycle. It should be complete right now.

You can certainly do better than MSRP. Anything more than splitting the difference between Invoice and MSRP is too much, IMHO ;p |

that's a very sensible approach...but i probably need to find a dealer who actually wants/needs the business. bmw manhattan doesn't seem to care whether they sell me the car or not

I do like their service dept, though. For sales, I've had pretty experience at Wide World BMW and Park Ave BMW in NJ. |

MSRP was 157k. I paid 130k. There's one left near philly and another in DC which I bet could be had for the same price.
The adjustable suspension on the Porsche is great. I love trolling people with it at stop lights.

I've done the M Sport to M step on every BMW I've had in recent memory: 335 to M3, 550 to M5, and now X5 5.0 to X5 M. Every car I tuned, built, and modded to be the best it could be. But the M models always raise the bar and set a baseline that isn't always achievable with mods alone. By the time you factor in all the costs, you're at or have exceeded the base MSRP for these cars. And then there's warranty coverage. The X5 5.0 was no slouch. It amazed me how quick that truck was. The M will be quicker, no doubt. And to me it's the best of both worlds not including the actual utility of the truck, too. And no, the digital cluster isn't included. But I'm not basing my purchase on that. Hopefully I'll be able to try a retrofit of that cluster at some point.
