I bought it from a dealer in L A area and had it installed in local dealer.

Hey @Alan l.

I got a quote from Park Avenue BMW, NJ for $210 for the MPPK install. I know this is on the high side... but at least they will install the tune without buying from them directly. Can you tell me how much Rallye charged you and how long it took for the install?

Thanks.

210 isn't bad at all.

I can't tell you how much i paid because I had it all done before I picked up the car so everything was all lumped in.

$210 sounds right. i've called 4 dealers in chicago area and being quoted from $230 to $375. havent been able to get them to commit to a flat hour of labor--they keep saying it takes 1.5-2 hours to run the update.

whomever got this done for $50 (cant recall who) must have been doing extra favors for the service manager

No. I had to educate the SA on what the install includes (he was charging for air intake install as well) and that it is crazy for anyone to pay over 50$ for a software update (especially after all of the coding I have done). Took about 10 minutes of actual labor to hook the car up to the computer, hit update and then put two stickers on. Charging any more for time to download (took them all day) and install (the computer worked for about an hour) is crazy.

Finally had mine installed today via coding thanks to WarpedDrive. He charged $125 to install adding $950 for the software via GetBMWparts.com Im all in at $1075 total. Well worth the price!

I previously had the RaceChip Ultimate installed, and even though MPPK has only been installed for an hour now I have to say its a nice improvement over the RC. The F15 feels 1000lbs lighter with MPPK

Id be curious to know if the same download code works (for a re-install) in the event your coding is wiped out during a service appointment.

seems like now that its registered to your VIN, that then becomes the responsibility of the Dealer that wiped it. Although this was flashed, so not sure if thats affected.

Major improvement over the RC? What was your RC setting on Default B?
Do you also notice a difference in the exhaust note?

I came very close to pulling the trigger on the MPPK and Front lip install this morning all for $2,900... but I decided to be smart and purchase the MPPK from getBMWParts and find a dealer who will do the install.

That's funny because they tried to charge me $600 for install, even though I bought my car from them.
Let me know where you get it installed. I've been too lazy to research.

Not major, but better and different. It feels much better. The car is tuned for the weight and performs like it should and no longer feels underpowered.

I dont notice any difference in exhaust note...but its only been a day. I need to drive harder

PM me and I'll forward WarpedDrives info. He can install it in your driveway remotely if you have the cable and software.

I had my RC one notch passed stock setting.

Are you going to install the RC on top of the MPPK? That is my plan once I get mine installed

I went to my dealer today to ask them to match GetBMWParts.com price.. they said that it was not possible because it is way under the price they are paying for... So I asked them to install the software after I receive it from GETBMWPARTS and charge me the standard $210... I'm waiting for their service manager to get back to me to confirm it. The dealer is BMW of Tenafly in NJ. I've got quoted the same $210 from Park Avenue BMW in hackensack, NJ so I will go there net if my dealer doesn't. I want to go to my dealer out of convenience of getting a free loaner car while mine is being worked on. I also got quoted $130 to install the front splitter lip which sounds reasonable.

I was able to open it up a bit more tonight on the interstate and you defiantly hear an improvement when punching it a highway speed. I was doing about 80, when I floored it to pass someone and hit 100 before I realized it. Sounded great!

If you get the front lip and they use beta link, is it removable?

With betalink its pretty much not removable. The front lip also requires a bit of drilling so consider this a permanent mod.

Hello all,

Does anyone know if any of these performance items such as the MPPK is available for the X5D?
