I have yet to see where it does work.

I did enabled this one, but can't seem to store video into the internal hard drive.
No option menu showing up.
Maybe it is something in the API group, but couldn't find it.

I also found this thread about the API_IPOD_VIDEO: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/arc.../t-746059.html. Seems like it doesn't do anything, but the features that do for media playback, I have enabled already. There was one extra one that I saw: ENT_MC_VIDEO_SUPPORT - I'm interested in what this does. Can anyone comment?
Thanks I think I will slowly go through all the codes to see what they say.. Its kind of a pain to translate them and understand what they do

Yeah, but some features don't even work correctly with Day/Night mode - like my HU_NBT (iDrive/Navigation). It doesn't work automatically, so I always have to set the brightness; this is super annoying at night because 100% is needed for day time but way too bright for night. I just deal with it by leaving it at 50-60%.

Now...need to find out which ones really make it happen @shawnsheridan @skalberti -- any thoughts on what to change to make the ambient lighting to turn off automatically during daylight? or if it is even possible?
I google translated almost all of this. The last ones in Ambiente are as follows:

1) Ambient Number Lin Layer - 3 layer
2) Ambient Color Travel Ready - H-Color: I assume when you put the car into Drive or Reverse, the ambient color of the 3 (blue, orange, white) is illuminated
3) Ambient Color Travel Not Ready - H-Color: I assume this is when the car is in Park or Neutral, the color is displayed - so kind of interesting/weird - maybe you can set the car to be orange when sitting still, and blue when you're moving - kind of pointless and probably would kill more energy, lol
4) Ambient Mode - RGB Layering - self-explanatory - don't know what options are in there to mess around with it - maybe there's some hacking here where we can get colors other than blue, orange and white?!
5) Ambient Tracking - This one seems to deal with brightness. I found this from an F20 PDF: brightness setting of ambient light independent from brightness of instrument cluster;left as it is as it was already active; can be
adjusted via settings/light incontrol display
. So what I guess is, if you have it set to nicht aktiv - then you can control the brightness of the Ambient Lighting with the little brightness wheel to the left the steering wheel that makes all the interior lighting dim or bright.

I guess if you really want to save energy, you just have to manually roll the wheel all the way down during the day time.

I also found these codes in the Russian forums:

Enable Video Support:
HU_NBT > 3003 > API_USB_VIDEO > both
HU_NBT > 3000 > ENT_CODEC_XVID > aktiv
HU_NBT > 3000 > ENT_CODEC_VCD > aktiv
HU_NBT > 3000 > ENT_MC_VIDEO_SUPPORT > aktiv
Enable Wifi:
HU_NBT > 3003 > WLAN_STATUS > aktiv
HU_NBT > 3003 > WLAN_MODUS > ap
HU_NBT > 3003 > WLAN_SIGNAL_STRENGTH > “incar” for low power, “outdoor” for high power
HU_NBT > 3000 > ENT_MC_WLAN_STREAM_DMP_COVERART > aktiv
HU_NBT > 3000 > ENT_MC_WLAN_STREAM_DMP_VIDEO > aktiv
HU_NBT > 3000 > ENT_MC_WLAN_STREAM_DMP > aktiv

Do our cars have WIFI???

Also, does this work for NON-M cars and the 6WB?:

Logo M-Perfomance to tidy (only extended) KOMBI | 3000 Anzeige_Konfiguration | BMW_LOGO | mpm / Werte = 01 17

Here's a really nice F30 coding sheet I found with A LOT of features: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...Ia3ZmbUE#gid=0 - @Hang0ver - want to try some?

There is one more Codec too:

HU_NBT => ENT_CODEC_OGG = aktiv

WLAN worked when NBT was first released in MY 2013 F10, then BMW pushed new firmware that disabled it, and it has never worked since.

Yeah, I have all three CODECS activated - I just pasted that from the russian forum.

So, even if we activated that WIFI coding for our F15, it would 100% not work? I'm curious if anyone has tried this.

That is correct. BMW AG killed WLAN. It won't work.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the info, Shawn . I bet it was discontinued because people were able to hack into the Wifi and mess with the vehicle - lock/unlock, etc remotely.

So I just want to add that DVD in motion in zoom mode is pretty amazing. Nice, large, clear picture the back seat passengers have no trouble seeing. No more distracting to the driver than browsing news articles in connected drive.

Updated OP for rear turn signal coding. The coding for rear turn signals also in BDC_Body is similar. In case you want to change your turn signal color from a red bulb to an amber LED bulb, this will stop the flickering:
  1. FRA_H_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: aktiv to nicht_aktiv
  2. FRA_H_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: aktiv to nicht_aktiv
  3. FRA_H_L_IS_LED: nicht_aktiv to aktiv
  4. FRA_H_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: aktiv to nicht_aktiv
  5. FRA_H_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: aktiv to nicht_aktiv
  6. FRA_H_R_IS_LED: nicht_aktiv to aktiv

Need some help please, how do you know what version of E-SYS and psdZdata you need for your vehicle, in my case MY2015 F15 or do you just assume the latest version whatever that may be?. I was given a free BMW coding database from a company that supplied my ENET OBD2 Cable, looks comprehensive and includes several F series models, however no mention of the F15, goes F10/F20/F25/F30 - which one do I need for the F15?, also have the cheat sheet kindly published on this site by others. Basic stuff but I'm trying to learn. Thanks.

Reading the OP (first page) helps. We have organized it very well so you don't get lost:

E-Sys software 3.23.4 or greater with EST token and password (detailed below in Token section)
PSdZData (Lite version) 50.0 or greater - PSdZData version used must be >= to the last version of ISTA/P used to program the car. If you use the latest PSdZData, then you don't have to worry about it. Otherwise, you will need to read I-Step Current from VCM, cross-reference it to the ISTA/P version, and determine if your PSdZData version is >= to it. To determine I-Step Current: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...postcount=1403 (thank you shawnsheridan).

Read the OP for the rest. The target connection is for F025. - F15 follows the same coding structure. After getting everything set up, if you're still lost, PM me.

@opasha, when you got a chance, also update the cheatsheet.
Easier to find in one place, since it also shared at bimmerfest forum.
Appreciate all your help on this. You are way ahead now and I've been swampped with work.
Btw, just got my wheels back yesterday.

Yeah, I was just thinking about doing it last night actually after reviewing a bunch of things. I'll try to get it done some time this week, for sure.

Nice. Same ones or different? So you drove on the track with your 20" OEM setup?
