Hey guys, can anyone empirically confirm that piggybacking the RCU or BMS Stage 1 onto MPPK actually stacks them rather than overriding the MPPK?

It is just stacking them.
It won't override the MPPK.

Hi guys, new F15 user here -- finally let my E60 go after almost a decade and couldn't be happier. Just got the MPPK after the great reviews here. Hoping to get it installed this week!

What an amazing forum, BTW. I'm humbled by the level of knowledge and camaraderie.

MPPK installed. What a difference! Looking back, now it feels like I was driving an oil tanker. Much faster throttle response and the engine sounds much better.

Haha! Nope! I feel a big difference from stock sports mode and RCU sports mode.. especially when you dial up the settings from Default to C and D ( Gas models only).

Here is a thread on Racechip ultimate installed on a Diesel with dyno results. Have a read at it.

Thank you for that! Reading through the post it seems like a racechip is my next purchase... can anyone speak on what one of the posters said about diesel engine clack sounding more prominent? Don't want the wife complaining....

Hi guys,

Long time no post..quick question for anyone that has the Jb4/Racechip installed over your MPPK. I have a service appt tomorrow for an oil change, do you think i need to remove the tune or should i be ok for just a n oil change? kind of lazy to do it, the wires are very well tucked in. and of course will set it o map 0 (jb4) so there is no addtl boost..

Let me know yout thought..cheers!

You may want to call and shop around.

It would be depending on your dealership. AFAIK, most of them don't care and/or don't even look for anything else if it is in just for an oil change.

Call Sterling BMW in Newport Beach. They installed my Mppk when I took the family to Disneyland last year. They charged me a buck fifty for the install and gave me a free loaner for the day to take the family around town. Good luck, you'll love it.

I coordinated everything with Chris Heck. He's the parts manager (949) 645-5900. I ordered the MPPK a week prior to my trip and reserved the loaner. The SA that helped me out the day of the install was Alex Yorba. Chris went above and beyond. He even called me on his day off to explain why he couldn't be there. Chris told me to see Alex directly and he would know what to do. The whole process went very smoothly. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes.

I've had two oil change services since I've installed my X5 with MPPK and Racechip.
My last service, I completely forgot to remove the tune and handed the car to the SA for oil change and other programming. I've received the car back by the end of the day without any issues. Like RGSport mentioned above, it's like not the dealers/ service managers when they received your car that they initially scan your car or go out of their way in search for any tunes? Additionally, imo in the service advisors eyes I'm pretty sure an X5 is the last car to have any tunes installed.

Hey guys, I actually had a different experience with the MPPK. I have a 2017 m sport x35 and the MPPK for sure does give a huge power boost. Exhaust sounds better and there is definitely more power and more tq, but you really have to crank it up all the time. Shifts are very quick especially with the paddle shifters almost like double clutch, but having to keep it revved up all the time for me was a little pain. My avg rpm's were usually 2-3k and it went from needing to be in 3-6 all the time, very aggressive. The low end pull and daily normal driving feel completely changed for me so I flashed it back to stock. Not sure if there were any changes in 2017 though. But definitely enjoyed it while it was on and maybe will just try the MPE because for me I enjoy the stock power band and maybe just want more sound. Also, not sure if anyone knows, is the MPPK tied to the VIN forever, because if it can be transferred PM me if you live around San Jose, CA.

Garage List
Once it's installed and the "license" generated. I don't think it can be transferred.
