I have a 2010 Acura TSX right now...so no, i'm not coming from a MC seat right now. just a standard seat. I test drove one without MC, and it felt find to me. But again, I was only in the car for about 15 minutes. Doesn't matter now...I got the regular ones! LOL

No, I will probably be the only person in this SAV most of the time. So I guess if you put it that way, I didn't really need the Damper option.

It's my first BMW anyway...so I'm just learning a lot of what it can do. I think i will be happy with my choice. Did you have yours custom built as well?
Pretty much everyone custom builds their X5, it's very difficult to find one that has everything you need, unless it's an impulse buy (yeah $70k impulse buy, ) most people will order theirs.
Here is my build and status thread:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=800463

Also, same as bfisher, did you compare your price with other programs out there? Approx $5k to $6k under MSRP seems to be the best deal going around, when coupled with incentives (there isn't any at the moment but there were some) I am not saying you got a bad deal but I just feel it could have been better.

Just picked up my customer build X5 yesterday. Total MSRP is $65,500 (invoice $61,500). Got it for $59,505(including $1,000 test drive coupon and $1,000 recent college grad incentive) before TTL. Final OTD is $64,949 with 8% tax rate. My order time line is:

9/13 Order placed, allocation week of 9/21 for production, prod# received,
9/15 Online status: Order documented
9/16 Online status: Production begins (early than expected)
9/23 Phone status: finished on 9/20
9/24 Phone status: finished on 9/24
9/25 Phone status: finished, waiting for carrier
9/26 Phone status: released to carrier, waiting for transportation to the port of exit
10/1~6 Phone status: at the port waiting for a shipping vessel
10/6 dealer update: will arrival on 10/20, get the VIN#
10/7~13 Phone status: at the port waiting for a shipping vessel
10/14 All status show "arrived at dealer" as well as got the call from dealer in the morning. Dealer pick up in the afternoon.

The total time is exactly 4 weeks for a south California customer build.

Edmunds but not true car. The dealer invoice matched.

The build sheet had two sets of numbers on it - wholesale and MSRP.

Of course dealers do get volume/retail incentives and holdback. Holdback from what i have read online is 2.5%. So the real cost would be wholesale minus 2.5%. And then there are the incentives.

I am not sure about the shipping method. On my car's sticker (showing configuration, price, and etc), it is saying:
VPC Location: OXNARD, CA
Port of Entry: GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG
Carrier: WAGGONERS TRUCKING
Hope this can give you some clue.

I've been meaning to post this for a while....I finally convinced my wife and we ordered a few months back...We ordered through a military sales program.

Order details:
BMW X5d
Space Gray Metallic
Dakota Mocha Leather
Fineline Oak Wood Trim
Manual Rear Shades
Third Row seat
Driver assist package
18" all season tires
5 year shipping back to the U.S. (currently stationed in Germany)

PRICE: $ 56,850!!!!!

It has been a very long wait since, as I mentioned above, we order in July and we finally got a VIN. I did change my build about a month after, so maybe that had to do with it...also, not sure if the diesel added more wait time. Looking at delivery 5-7 weeks after build, which means middle to end of december....This will be a great Christmas present for the wife!!!

Congratulations! Could you share your dealer info in Toronto where you were able to negotiate this deal? I'm looking for a similar deal in Toronto!

I built an excel lease payment calculator file, configured for the province of Ontario in Canada. You can modify the tax rate, APR, period, residual, downpayment and markup over invoice to get your after tax lease payment per month. I hope this is useful for those looking to get detailed information on their monthly lease payments.

Good luck! I believe it's possible, but here in Canada it seems 3% off is more typical, and 4-5% off best (with a few exceptions). I walked out of 3 dealerships with cash in hand that would not sell to me based on 4% markup (4.5% off). Others may do better though.

It seems alloations are limited here. I was told "why would I sell to you at 4% off, when I have other customers willing to pay full price."

If you are a BMW CCA you get 2% back later. Wish I was! Must be a member for a full year in good standing.

Were you shopping around in New Brunswick? I am really hoping that Toronto is competitive enough a marketplace to find a dealer willing to settle for 2.5% over invoice.

Frankly, the dealer's argument makes no sense. If a dealer has others willing to pay full price, the dealer can sell to them at full price and then sell to me also. It's not like they only have 2 vehicles that they can sell a year.

I do know in Canada the smaller dealerships have limited allocations. I would think they would still sell at a small profit to make a sale and have future service customer, but that has not always been my experience - especially if they know that you want their product (i.e. a BMW over Mercedes or Lexus) and they are the only dealer.

Just Placed My Order

Well after months of test driving every competing SUV it came down to the Cayenne and the X5. Although I really liked the Cayenne, my wife seemed more comfortable riding in the X5. And, the BMW is a better value and much better cabin tech. Here is what I built - let me know if you think I got a fair deal on the price.

X5 xDrive35d
Mineral White
Terra Dakota leather
Fineline Oak Trim
Cold Weather Package
Driver Assistance Plus
Driver Assistance Package
ACC Stop & Go + Active Driving Assistant
Luxury Line
Premium Package
Dynamic Damper Control + rear axle air
Multi-contour seats
Space-saver spare
Cargo area liner - dealer supplied
Rubber matts - dealer supplied
TOTAL MSRP = $70,650

TOTAL after negotiation = $67050, or a discount of $3600

I am not sure what invoice is, but this seemed to be in line with the discount off of MSRP that others are quoting here. Let me know if you think I got a fair price.

Pickup will be at the factory probably after new year
