Wheels from current X5 fit on the 2014 version?

I saw that the wheels being offfered as an accessory purchase look like the ones on the current (design wise). Does anyone know if the current X5 wheels will fit on the new one? Below photo is from the extras for 2014 X5.

I don't see why they wouldn't.

Great question since I have a set of 214 style wheels and winter tires for my wife's 2011 X5 that we hope will fit on the 2014. Hope they didn't change the bolt pattern or offset...

They've kept the same 120mm pattern since the inception of the X5. I would assume that it will remain the same for the F15.

I think the rear bore of the E70 X5M was different than the rear bore of the regular X5 which made selling X5M wheels to regular X5 owners a problem...

"The X5 (74.0mm) has a different rear wheel bore than the X6, X5M, and X6M (72.5mm)"

Would love to know myself. I heard the TPM might be different and that's why the roomer is they won't work but no on knows for sure. I expect to pick up my 2014 in a couple weeks and will let you know the offset of the wheels. Hopefully well find something out sooner as I'd like to have a winter set ready too.

Every BMW model which I have owned had never had rims which will fit the next generation. Actually, I can't think of any BMW which has allowed the ability to swap rims from the previous generation. My e53 rims did not fit my e70. My e39 would not fit my e60

So we are saying the old X5 rims will not fit on the 2014 or just need next TPMS?

Sounds to me like no one knows for sure yet. FWIW, if you check tire rack, they say call for F15 wheels.. So either the wheels they have that fit the E70 won't fit the F15, or they don't know yet either.

The F15 has a different RDC (tire pressure monitor) system than the E70. As a result, BMW does not recommend using E70 wheels/tires on the F15.
Simple, change RDC.

Sounds like maybe its a different system all together. It may not be as simple as just changing the sensors.

Looks like tire rack now has some up. Could be worth a call to them as well as your BMW service center to see who has some concrete answers. Does look like tirerack doesn't have the TPMS sensors yet though.

So, FWIW, tire rack told me a set of wheels I had on our current F25 X3 (18") will not fit on the new X5. Not sure if they would have fit the E70, but I thought they would. So maybe that doesn't tell us anything about the F15.

I did just get an email from a guy at Mod Bargains saying he confirmed the E70 wheels WILL fit the F15. I asked him if there were any changes to the sensors and if so, if they have the new ones.

LOL! That's because you picked the ONLY two vehicles BMW had made with 74.1mm hub bores - the E70/71 (non-M) and the E39 M5.

As far as E70 wheels fitting the F15, it depends on the hub bore of the F15, (it appears to me to be 74.1 again based on wheels offered above which are 74.1) and the offsets - the F15 could easily required different backspacing than the E70 did, but it's also possible it will not.

I'd suggest someone tries some test fitting and post up the results. If anyone in the Seattle area has an F15 and wants to see what some 333s would look like on there, I'm more than happy to do a test fit.

I also wonder if it makes a difference if the car has DPC (Dynamic Performance Control / torque vectoring rear axle).

I believe that all X6 models originally had this, and X5M also had it. Maybe this was the reason the rear wheels had a different hub size?

I have some X5M rims I'm really hoping will fit my F15 (with DPC)....

Wheels will fit but there are new sensors, which I'm told are back ordered.

Anyone have any issues running winters without sensors? I may have to go that route or wait a few weeks, or more.

This is more confusing then. X6 uses a *different* hub size to E70 X5 (X6 is same as X5M).

So, either X5 now uses the same size as X6 (different hub sizes front and back) *or* you've got hub-centric rings on your X6 to make X5 rims fit it.

Anyone know which it is?

You'll just get warnings. Problem is that any reputable tire place will refuse to mount the wheels without functioning TPMS - they're reminded that they are liable to ensure that all safety systems are functional before allowing you to leave.

Thanks. That's what I thought. Been a while since I went without sensors, didn't know if it causes any issues since the one place I did speak to said they wouldn't mount them since they couldn't get the sensors. Said to have my local shop take them out of my stock wheels then switch back in spring. No thanks...
