Option Discrepancies Between Dealer Order Sheet and BMW Build Tracker

Like many of you that are still anticipating the delivery of your X5, I've been (obsessively) tracking my order on BMW website. Once, the order was processed and my list of options were posted on the website, I realized it was different from the order sheet from the dealer. There were options that were missing on the website and options that I did not want added on the website. I spoke to the dealer and showed the GM the website, and he assure me that what's on the order sheet is what I'm going to get...which is what I want. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that I won't have to re-order.

Has this happened to anyone? Just curious.

My order on the BMW web site only shows the outside of the vehicle (which is now showing the correct color) - and the rims look correct. I don't show any build package/options - where are you able to see this information? I'll check mine and let you know ...

This is a common discrepancy. I would not sweat it.

^ I assume the tracking is pre-VIN. With VIN the accuracy is 100%

When you log in to the website and click on your car under "Track My BMW," you'll see a timeline. You should see your options once your car enters "Production Begins" phase.

No. I have my VIN. My car has enter "Finishing Touches" phase on the build timeline. And still not 100% correct.

No worries. All my past cars were not displayed 100% but came in correct.

Check your vin on bmwarchive.org, see what options show up there.

What's funny about the website too, if you ever go back and look at a car later on after you get it, what was right doesn't stay that way. All of my previous BMW's that I tracked were accurate when I ordered, accurate picture and all, but now show up different pictures, slightly wrong options.. Not that it matters, just odd.

This site is closer than the BMW site...but still some options are missing. No 20" rims, no Dynamic Handling Package to mention couple. We'll see. If they get my order wrong after assuring me that it won't be, I'm gonna blow a gasket.

Enter your VIN. For me 100% accuracy. If you open the PDF you can see two pic of your car.

Waiting for mine. My BMW can't seem to find my VIN number but it comes out on the bmwarchiv.de/vin website with no problem. Anyone had this happen? I can't add the vehicle on my profile. I called BMW USA and customer service also can't see it. Car is due to arrive to me in one week.

I have no VIN yet so that explains that - thanks!

As the vehicle gets closer to delivery options you ordered seem to magically appear. Just make sure the window sticker matches your order.

Same with me, I have done 3 orders over the years, and they have never been fully correct. This last time I called my dealer and he was able to look at his system and confirm that everything was correct.

As long as you have the build sheet you will be fine. The tracker is just there to keep the overly obsessive buyers on the edge of their seat.
