Dirt Bike on back of X5?

Many avenues for aftermarket hitch, that aside, has anyone ever picked up a motorcycle carrier rack (like link below) and hauled a dirt bike/motorcycle on the back of their F15 X5? If so, any pics? And guidance?

I never liked that style carrier. It’s a pain to load and unload and you need to store your gas cans in the back of the X5. Back when I was racing enduros I used a trailer, much easier to manage. At least until I bought a pickup.

Agreed on that, would much prefer trailer but live in downtown chicago and have no space for trailer. This is my only chance at getting back out on the trails.

Ah, in that case it’s probably your best option. Would be easy to store, that’s for sure!

There are some motorcycle trailers that fold up.

For example:

Be sure you figure weight on hitch, too. For example, the Stealth Hitch 2" inch receiver is not heavy enough to tow any trailer. Bike racks only. I'd never feel safe with 2-300 lbs of bike bobbins back there.

I don't see why that shouldn't work... just make sure your hitch is rated for the tongue weight and you should be good to go, the vehicle should not be of a real concern at that weight given the load capacity of the trunk.

Fellow dirtbiker here.
Although I do not (yet) load up the bike on a hitch carrier behind the X5, I do on my lifted Toyota FJ Cruiser. It's higher than the x and I don't see why the F15 wouln't be able to handle it just fine.
Better selections on carriers here (and lighter). https://www.discountramps.com/motorc...ier/p/AMC-400/

And right now, there's a discount code of "TEN" for 10% off. Not sure how long it'll last. Not affiliated, just an FYI.
