2016 x5 - Text Messages ??

I cant seem to get text messages to display? I have my phone paired and have office set to who all messages....yet I have never seen a message display on idrive. Are others having success?

yes plz i have the same issue have an iPhone 7+ paired, notifications turned on in the iPhone bluetooth menu and still dont receive anything

You guys probably need BMW connected app on your iPhones

On your phone, go to setting, Bluetooth and click on the exclamation mark next to the BMW connection and enable notification. Also, in the car go to the BMW setting, Bluetooth and click in the iphone connection and enable everything

Double this ! I have a 2014 with connected apps and it works. Your's should too.
To send messages , some say they use Siri but I haven't had any success yet. I will search more and post if I can figure it out

For some reason my iPhone 7 does not have a notification option with my 2015 BMW Bluetooth connection. Any advice?

thanks, I have had it before, maybe I change something on the phone and that bt menu now doesn't show notifications as an option...

Beyond those referenced links, I do not know. I have never owned an Iphone. Good luck!

Thanks much for the helpful links. I had everything set correctly- but turned a few settings off then on and rebooted my phone - now I am receiving messages. The 'Reply' option does not appear to be active ... maybe it does not work for anybody (then why is it there). I am long pressing the voice command button that pulls up Siri. The just voice command her to send a reply etc. works OK. X5 is quiet enough Siri is very accurate.

Different topic - but likely same group. Anyway to not have 'Entertainment volume' window come up every time I change volume settings??

I have the i7 with the latest os, and there is no notification option any more. I had it in the past but not with my current phone. Maby i ought to try my old iPhone 5.

So went through with the 'genius' helpline, apparently if the idrive does not have office from the main menu (and my 2015 doesn't) you can't get texts from my phone (which is an iPhone). This is not the office from connected drive, but a separate application off the main menu. It's on 2016 cars, but not apparently on my 15 (9/14 build). Not a big deal but it would have been nice. And per BMW, I have the latest software that is for my X5.

IOS would not even show the notification option. When we tried it with a 2017 car at the dealership, the option reappeared.

Just FYI for the forum.

You can code it into system and Office will appear.
