2017 X5 35d

Hello guys,

Just picked up a 2017 x5 35d to the family along side with my f10 M5.
I'm enjoying the much improved fuel economy compared to my M5. However, I hated the 451 style wheels that came with the car. I can get some pretty good deals on Niche road wheels. Since I never done any wheel mod before, I got a couple questions to ask.

I am not planning to get new rubber for those wheels. I am looking at 20X10 Et 40 and 20x10.5 ET35 (I am aware the current 451 is 20x11 in the rear, Niche doesnt offer 20x11 in the styles i wanted). I am wondering if the 10.5 rear would be too less for the 315 tires that came with the car. Would I need to purchase a narrower tire, ie., 305 35 20. If so, would this alter the speedo on the car?

Thanks in advance.

Correct, the 451 specs are:

FRONT - 20x10 ET40 - 275/40 R20
REAR - 20x11 ET37 - 315/35 R20

The fronts you're looking at from Niche would be a direct pairing. The rears are 1/2" narrower with a smaller offset (2mm), which will tuck the wheel further under the vehicle. For a 315 on a 10.5" rim, you should be ok, you're just going to have a little more tire (less of a squared off look). Also, make sure that the wheels you're looking at are rated for the weight of this vehicle.

Thanks for the clarification. On the Niche website, the wheels have a load rating of 1600 lbs.

Surprised you don't like them ! I have a luxury line with the standard 19's but I always preferred the 451's. I think they look great with your color.
Congrats on your purchase. My wife averages 8.7L / 100km mixed driving in comfort mode. She loves it

They've grown on me for sure for the last couple of days. But im still considering others and keep this for winter wheels. 700km so far and I'm averaging 11.9 with pure city driving.
