WeissLicht Spektrum LED Turn Signal Bulbs...anyone try them?

Hey everyone. Has anyone installed LED turn signal lights before? I have the Bi-Xenon package and the eyebrow top LED is not the turn signal. Instead the turn signal light is the amber corner light. I saw a lot of videos and reviews on WeissLicht Spektrum LED Bulbs: https://www.bimmian.com/WeissLicht-L...r-BMW-F15-X5#5. Anyone think they are worth it? Has anyone ever done the White LED turn signals? They say it's about 8x brighter lumen output and matches Bi-Xenon white headlights. I'm just poking around and curious. Here's a good recent discussion on them in some forums:

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=928778

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=959990

Bimmian video:

Amber LED:

White LED:

They cause flickering when first started up but this can be coded off in BDC_Body by coding these 6 values (3 for each light):

FRA_V_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: aktiv to nicht_aktiv
FRA_V_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: aktiv to nicht_aktiv
FRA_V_L_IS_LED: nicht_aktiv to aktiv

FRA_V_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: aktiv to nicht_aktiv
FRA_V_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: aktiv to nicht_aktiv
FRA_V_R_IS_LED: nicht_aktiv to aktiv

Let me know your feedback/opinions . Thanks everyone!

Which color do you think I should go for? I'm thinking of trying this after I confirm whether the stock Bi-Xenon package turn signal indicators are halogen or led.

I personally will stick with amber.
The reason, if you do white, you will most likely will different shade of white.

Yeah, that's true. Thanks for your input. The white they show does seem to be a pure 5000K light (the similar light color of actual xenons despite their 4300k level) as opposed to IDMJOY's 6000-7000k blueish whites.

Based on my experiences, the color temp on regular halogen bulb, xenon, and LED, came out to be different even though they all rated at the same color temp.
Also, sometimes different brand of LED gives a different shade.
Share your finding, I believe bimmervegas from other forum also interested in changing his.

Yeah, I know what you mean . I went through like 5 different brands of Parking Lights (W5W Wedge bulbs/leds) to figure out which looked the best and didn't produce computer errors on our ML350 ranging from 5000K to 7000K.

Assuming your xenon lights are similar to those in Europe, then the turn signal/indicator bulb is a regular orange tungsten bulb.

Yeah, I'm going to figure this out right now to see whether or not I want them any brighter. Thanks for the input, buddy .

UPDATE: Yep, looks like they are not LED for the Bi-Xenon. Just regular orange.

I had the WeissLicht license plate lights on the Cayenne and they were hella bright! However, a few LEDs of the bunch blew out which I think was due to user error for connecting the light to the relay after shoving the relay behind the trunk panel so it wasn't a great snug fit originally.

Here is a blurry pic, but you get the idea.

I did get the LEDs for the clear headlights from superbrightleds.com and worked well for the turn signals, interior door and even the festoon bulb in the trunk. Other than the Xenon headlights the Porsche had full LEDs. Actually that is a lie; the dumb mirror lights were halogens and there was too much surgery to get those replaced! Man, I miss that car. But I think the X5 50i is faster.

AMAZING!!! I just got the WeissLicht Spektrum LED Turn Signal lights in AMBER color. They match the mirror turn signal lights perfectly (this was my huge concern) and they are SO MUCH BRIGHTER and better. Plus, the annoying orange hue from the halogen orange bulb that reflects within the light housing is GONE! Pictures do not do it justice. If you're considering it, definitely buy these. I know it's a little expensive, but definitely worth it if you have the Bi-Xenon package like me. The housing is actually really easy to get access to if you can fit your hands all the way back into the side of your engine bay behind the turn signal section. You just twist the flat knob and pull. Initially do to the heat or whatever, it is a little difficult to twist, but keep trying and you'll get it. At first I was bummed thinking I would have to take off the wheel and get access from the wheel well, but thankfully this is not the case at all. The install literally took less than 5 minutes once I figured it out. The bulbs twisted right onto the knob and I popped them right in.

Pictures: I took these pictures while I had the Hazards/Flashers on

No coding needed at all. Just twist them out of the housing from inside your engine bay area. Just remove the old ones (twist and pop em off). Put the new ones on (twist and pop em in). Make sure you push them all the way in back in the housing before you twist the knob so it closes correctly.

That's pretty sweet. I like the clear look of the housing when the light is off.
Are they flickering when you turn the car on?

Nope, no flickering at all. These lights are powerful. I just checked in the dark garage. I'm really impressed.

Thanks for the feedback. I noticed this thread when you originally posted, before I got my X5. Now that I have it, I think this is one of the "mods" I'll be making. Really like the look of those better than the standard bulbs.

You're very welcome. Yeah, I figured I'd try them out and glad I did. I was afraid installation would be hard, but it was quite easy. It may not look like there's a compartment because you can't see it at all, but it is there. You just have to stick your hands back there. From what I saw, each light housing has a compartment - the low beam and high beam have their own larger round twist knobs, which are visible (one being right on top and the other being more vertical if you look lower).
