Sunroof flutter noise?
When the sunroof is all the way open and I put my foot down on the gas, the sunroof makes this crazy flutter noise like something is loose.
Anyone else? How is this fixed?

There is two positions to the roof the first when it opens half way, and with that there is no sound and the second where it opens all the way, where you get that sound, unfortunately there is no fix for that it's just the aerodynamic of the interior that created that wobbling sound. That one reason one the sunroof was designed to be opened first to the half position.

There are two drain ports for the sunroof in the back hatch on the top with flaps that cover them. If the sunroof is open and you accelerate quickly, they'll flap open causing the sound you hear until you close the roof or stop. Some people have suggested taping them to add weight...I just took them off. No more sound.

Here's a pic I found of the hatch online (it's for an E70 model, but it looks the same). Highlighted in yellow are the two ports.

Are we talking about the air pressure build up in the cabin which makes the sound on almost every SUV's out there due to the nature of the design...
or are we talking about this? This is a very common issue with the X5 and experienced with many F15 owners myself included. Here is a thread on the subject from another forum. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=849722
