Help with these errors

Hello all I have had emergency call malfunction error for a while now and I thought it is related to Telematic Battery. I recently replaced it with a new battery and the following errors keep coming up. I know the headlamp mapping issue is not related to that but the rest is getting me the yellow warning signal and I'm not able to use the BC button on my turn signal. any help is highly appreciated.

What does the test plan come up with in ISTA for that code?

You replaced the battery that S0398 is calling for?

qasimbotani S0398 is calling for the main battery I believe. How old is your vehicle's battery?

Looks like his car got around 60K miles so probably the factory one.

You need to replace or charge your main battery no the TCM unit one.

But the main battery is working just fine, it might be old. All the functions of start and stop and when I start the engine early in the morning it just starts directly without any hassles why would it be the issue? Is there a way to code out the emergency call as I dont need it at all.

Looking at the first error from ISTA, I would think the module's memory or memory controller is kaput.

I wonder if a replacement used module might fix things up?

The question is if the Telematics Control Unit is faulty and if I replace it will this be fixed and would I stop getting emergency call malfunction on my cars screens? Also do you guys know of a way to code it out?

You can search this forum and find a few dozen threads here with weird electrical issues and malfunctions which were caused by old battery. Just my .02.

I had a long post typed, but changed it to the above because I get tired of telling people BMWs are just very sensitive to batteries. Almost always met with, "but the car starts fine." I change them every 4-5 years religiously. And I have 6 Bimmers. But HATE worrying about batteries not starting a vehicle, or worse, bricking my expensive modules because of an under voltage situation. It's <$200 if you can change and register it yourself. And ~$350 at an independent. Cheap? No. But way cheaper than if damage happens.

We used to see it at the indy shop I worked at. Most common one was EGS de-synchronization. But we'd also see dead DMEs, CASs, etc in more extreme situations.

Owners are just programmed to use their battery up until it will no longer start the car. And even then they'll try to revive it by charging or other means. Even if it's 6+ years old. Boggles my mind.

And I'm not even saying that will solve his emergency call issue. But the vehicle is saying that the main battery needs to be replaced by throwing S0398. Before you can diag an electrical issue, the electrical system has to be good.

Yeah I agree changing the battery is on the way. The dealer here asks for 650$ for the main battery only I don't know how much the auxiliary battery will be. When I first got the car it had an accident and knee, steering and left curtain side airbags were deployed. I live in Iraq and the car was imported from US. I have replaced the steering and the curtain airbags, I have to replace the drives side pretensioners and the battery is added to that then.
